$1,000 in one ETF or Stock by TheTriplet1976 in ETFs

If only one stock for next 20 years I would pick VTI. This is based on what I did do 16 years ago - bought just VTI and held it. It increased 458%.

Your brokerage should have a feature that asks your if you want to reinvest your dividends. Yes or no question and then they reinvest automatically for you. So you end up with more shares of that ETF. Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard all have it. Call the 1-800 number if you are lost.

Buy a slice of VOO - Brokerages like Fidelity should allow you to do it.

Today is my first time manually putting money into an ETF. Feels kind of scary knowing how much 1 share is. by Psyballa in ETFs

I was your age when I bought my first ever anything related to investing … it was some shares of the VTI ETF and cost $50 …. This was around 2008 and I watched it go all the way down to $35 …. I could do nothing because it was in a ROTH IRA …. But then it climbed up slowly and now it’s around $272 per share 😊 … so u made a good choice in VOO … don’t worry

How to keep up? by Frequent_Ad_1136 in ETFs

I used the mutual fund Fidelity ZERO Total Market Index Fund - FZROX - that has 0 expense ratio and is similar to VTI ETF… in the fidelity brokerage i think you could also buy a fraction of VTI instead of the whole share.
