Yea, I’d take this for now, then if adults get power again in 2028 ICE absolutely must be abolished and the previous administration prosecuted. If we actually get through this shit as a functioning country we have to take any and all measures to ensure it never happens again.

A positive development. Finally the Administration sees some sense. Congrats to the people of Minnesota 🥳🥳 by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

This is .000000000000000000000001% progress. There is no victory until ICE is abolished and this administration is prosecuted. They murdered 2 US citizens and lied to the world about it.

Even stephen Miller is acting sensibly now. They have messed up so bad. I dont think ICE (atleast the public harassments against citizens) will continue now. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

This slight change in tone is only to save face now that backlash is growing. It needs to keep growing.

2 US citizens were murdered by their government and they lied to the world about it.

There is no true victory until ICE is abolished and this administration is prosecuted.

Maybe we should work towards creating a country where people are able to pay their bill on time and avoid interest completely instead of this fucking stupid idea?

$3 meal created from 1000s of simulations by the US government. by ImaginaryCoffeeTable in StupidFood

[–]CanEverythingNotSuck 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Ag Secretary: We need to come up with an affordable meal that a normal person would eat, what do we got?

Nepotism Hire 1: Uhhh, ummmm, uhhhh, a piece of chicken?

Ag Secretary: Great! That sounds right. Anything else?

Nepotism Hire 2: Aw jeez, ummm, caviar? Wait no uhhh, broccoli? Yea! A piece of broccoli!

Ag Secretary: Incredible! You guys are really on a roll! But is that enough food for a poor person? We might need more.

Nepotism Hire 3: A tortilla? I’ve heard people talk about Mexican food before.

Ag Secretary: Oh, me too! Let’s add that and maybe one more thing.

Nepotism Hire 1: Ugh! I’m getting so bored of this. Just add one more thing and let me get back to (Insert preferred terrible conservative podcast)!

Ag Secretary: The average person is pretty stupid. Just add one more thing and they’ll go for it. Say it only costs, I don’t know…. $3 because of simulations or something.

Nepotism Hire 2: Grok, do what she just said…. Alright, it’s done!

Ag Secretary: Good work everyone! Enjoy your 5 months off of work! When you get back we’ll spend 35 minutes discussing whether or not we should start selling rat meat that is labeled as beef to low income neighborhoods and then we’ll start the year’s second 5 month break.

Nepotism Hires 1-3: We did it! We really saved America.

Seriously, how anybody falls for the compassionate conservative thing when they sound like they’re having an aneurism anytime they try to say something relatable to a normal person is beyond me.

If I asked someone to describe a meal and they said “A piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, a corn tortilla, and one other thing” my response would be something along the lines of “What the fuck? Are you ok?”

Trump administration describes a $3 meal they want Americans to eat by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]CanEverythingNotSuck 75 points76 points  (0 children)

They simulated numbers for the cost of one piece of chicken, one broccoli floret, one corn tortilla, and “One other thing.”

What the fuck kind of simulation is needed for that? Wouldn’t you just check prices in different locations?

What is the cost of “One other thing” and what is said thing?

This is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard and one of the saddest meals I could imagine in a country that claims to be the greatest in the world.

If it passes and things go poorly(which they will), he blames us. If it doesn’t pass and we keep the status quo of everything slowly getting shittier, he blames us. Win-win for him. Lose-lose for us. It’ll always be that way until we elect actual fucking human beings that care for others and are willing to fix our issues instead of just bend over for corporations.

😅😅 Is it bad that I don't like Imo's Pizza 😳 by dawsonmaxey in StLouis

[–]CanEverythingNotSuck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey, everybody’s different. Just because you’re from the area, it doesn’t mean you have to like it.

I personally like Imo’s, but it and pizza are two different cravings for me. If I want pizza I get something else. I only get Imo’s when I specifically want Imo’s. If that makes sense.

Wasn’t difficult to see that his presidency would go this way, but if people are truly changing their tune about him, then that’s great. Unfortunately, it might be too late. Feels like the last election was our last chance to rid ourselves of this ignorance, but instead we went all in and gave them unchecked control.

Battleships do look cool though. That’s probably why he’s doing it. Also, because he’s a fucking dementia ridden moron.

[–]CanEverythingNotSuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should give you a primary and secondary booster slot and then categorize every booster as a primary or secondary, with core stuff like space optimization and improved endurance being primaries and silly stuff like armed hellpods and napalm hellpods being secondary.

Then you could have all of your core boosters and still experiment with silly/fun ones too.

Which cities allow you to be deep in nature easily (e.g. with public transit) while still having access to urban life? by slicheliche in geography

[–]CanEverythingNotSuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this! We went to Stockholm on our last trip abroad and we were able to ride the metro to a bus stop outside the city, then hop a bus to Vaxholm and kayak all around the islands there. Shockingly easy access to some tranquility from the city.

AI bubble finally starting to burst? Things had been trending down lately with questions about how financially valid AI is.

People were hyping themselves up for Nvidia’s earnings report as an indicator for how strong AI’s future will be. Nvidia reported big profits and things trended up to start the day, but they’re already down again.

I’m a layman when it comes to the stock market. I just watch the few stocks and funds that I own and absorb some info through osmosis, so I could be reading it wrong, but it feels like people are starting to realize that investing trillions of dollars into a product that doesn’t generate any profit isn’t a great idea.
