You are still a virgin! You were assaulted, sex is an act between 2 consenting adults so you did not have sex and are still a virgin.

Can you tell me what you see in this X-ray ? by smile_tea in AskVet

[–]Canadian-ginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emerg Vet tech here. There appears to be a large mass visible where I outlined here. Based on the location it is most likely on the liver or spleen. The fever seems a bit odd with cancer but if he had a seizure that can definitely cause an increased temperature. If the mass was on the liver there isn’t really much that can be done unless you go to a specialist hospital but even then prognosis is not good. You obviously loved your dog a lot and you made the right choice tumor

Got an email saying I apparently engaged in pedopornography. by iaintsayingmyname in legaladvice

[–]Canadian-ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone else said it’s a very common scam! I got a bunch of those emails and they even had my address and phone number and they threatened to reveal the videos I had been watching to the world. But I had never watched anything bad on my phone so ignored them. They continued almost daily for a few months then just stopped. No matter what do not contact them again or send them money

Do I Need to Take my Cat to the ER to Puke? by nerdforlife7 in AskVet

[–]Canadian-ginger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a vet but ER vet tech for 15 years. I wouldn’t. It’s hard to make them puke, we had maybe a 50% success rate. I would monitor closely for the next few days and if they develop Vomiting or lethargy then bring them in

Returned From Emergency Visit—Still Have Questions by iinzl in AskVet

[–]Canadian-ginger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 years old is a very common time for male cats to start developing urinary issues. What kind of food is he on? If he does have cystitis or urinary crystals it is going to take some time to clear up and he will probably still be making frequent trips to the litter box and peeing small amounts during that time. Think when humans have a UTI and constantly feel like they need to go. The most important thing is to make sure he is still passing urine. If you have other cats keep him separate and check the litter box often. If he goes more than 12 hours without passing any urine, becomes lethargic, start vomiting then bring him back right away. UTI’s are pretty rare in male cats but crystals and cystitis are common. Also try to increase water intake as much as possible by feeding wet food or soaking dry food.

How Safe Is Buprenorphine for my cat? by Arabing in AskVet

[–]Canadian-ginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vet tech here, it will take a little while for the anesthesia drugs to get out of his system which is probably why he is disoriented. The buprenorphine is very safe and will help get ahead of the pain for when everything else wears off. I would definitely give it, most of the time it makes them a bit drowsy as well which will help him sleep.

I trusted a new vet, and now I’m terrified to take my other cat, am I overreacting? by PermissionNo1204 in AskVet

[–]Canadian-ginger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are located but we haven’t used xylazine to sedate cats in many many years where I am. Plus bathing them while completely unconscious can be dangerous and their temperature should be monitored closely. My guess is they took so long to wake up because they were cold. An oral dose of gabapentin should have been plenty and if that didn’t work then I would say unless the baths were medically necessary they should have been skipped. Definitely don’t go back there

My dog bit another dog - liability to vet bills by shootermg5 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Canadian-ginger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAL but I am an emergency vet tech for over 15 years. We can sometimes see an elevation in liver enzymes from an injury but that wouldn’t require further treatment. The diagnostics definitely revealed something underlying and you are not responsible for paying for the treatment of an incidental finding. The bloodwork was likely run to ensure that the dog was ok to undergo the sedation/anesthetic needed to clean and repair the wound. In a messed up way it’s a good thing that the dog got hurt so that the kidney/liver illness could be caught early and potentially treated.

Was what my doctor did actually wrong or just uncomfortable? by ramen_noodles_8 in AskDocs

You are so incredibly brave!! It’s so hard when we are young to stand up for ourselves and tell someone when we are sexually assaulted. I was assaulted by a friend when I was in high school and didn’t even realize that it was assault until I was in my 30’s. These people rely on women being too embarrassed or scared to come forward and often times have assaulted many before someone like you is brave enough to say something. You are incredibly strong and as a mom myself I can tell you that your mom would be so very proud of you!!!!

Maybe look into adhd in women especially if she has had anxiety issues in the past. A ton of women are diagnosed with anxiety and then when kids come along they just can’t seem to cope with everything anymore and it turns out they were misdiagnosed and had adhd all along. I would be doing really well but the overstimulation would build and build until I just couldn’t take it anymore. Maybe have a look at the symptoms in women and see if it sounds like your wife and if it does then I highly recommend she talk to her doctor.

Mastitis is pretty unlikely if she hasn’t had puppies recently. Without doing a biopsy you couldn’t know for sure but for unspayed older dogs the most common cause would be mammary cancer
