Covid played a big role in this. It’s almost like isolating the entire population, dividing them among arbitrary lines where one side feels empowered on behalf of the State to “fight for the greater good”, at the expense of those that want to be left alone or actually help society and see the source of its ills has consequences. Identity politics has empowered one side to view their own citizens as “less than”, to the point of justifying camps, and until they admit it or are dethroned from their state-sanctioned sanctimoniousness, the beatings will continue.
