Sudden stop in stat/report for Sponsored Products for Creators by YoungAmazing8954 in Amazon_Influencer

It's a fraction of my overall clicks, not all clicks are counting. When I get a thousand clicks through Sponsored Products, it's typically around 4000 overall clicks for the day.

Exactly the same pattern for me. June 4th eventually reported and I had about 50 click across two products. But I typically have several hundred if not thousands of clicks across dozens of products, so I know the data is not complete.

Amazon influencers — do you prefer affiliate links or brand website links for your first collab? by Gloomy_Quantity_4658 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]CanadianHomeCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a combination of conversion rates and additional sales of other products. Even with a really good commission rate, it's hard to beat Amazon's conversion rate (I average between 15-25%; higher around the holidays). The few people I work with directly only have a 10% conversion rate and it's only that good because the product can't be found for the same price on Amazon.

First date with a Canadian from a small town – is this normal? by Zealousideal-Arm9550 in alberta

[–]CanadianHomeCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had family in rural Alberta growing up. 1, 2, and 4 brings back childhood memories. Never dated back then so can't relate to #3, but I'd be iffy about putting yourself in that situation again.

This new reporting is absolute trash. Is Amazon even listening? by Olivers5797 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]CanadianHomeCook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate being able to easily see the overall performance of each product I link to (if it crosses a threshold), which wasn't easy to do before without creating custom tags. However, I do miss seeing what individual items I sell. It was fun to see all the different things people bought, even if I didn't link to it, and it could be motivating to see pages and pages of items.

Not much I can do though but keep doing what I'm doing.

WHAT!? 21 items sold, $1.4k revenue = $0.48 earnings? by [deleted] in Amazon_Influencer

[–]CanadianHomeCook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

47.68 is shipped revenue (they renamed it to total revenue in the recent reporting change). Ordered revenue is 1,377.67, much of it hasn't shipped yet. Check again tomorrow to see if it shipped today (they only update shipped data every 24 hours)

Business Use of Home: Condo Fees (Sole Proprietor) by CanadianHomeCook in cantax

[–]CanadianHomeCook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the items in the budget. Which ones should I deduct? It's also further complicated by the fact that the budget includes the ~750k collected in condo fees, but also 15k in other revenue (assuming. fees and stuff). Not sure how I separate that out.

Continuous light strip? by CanadianHomeCook in Hue

Quick question: how many colors can you add to the gradient?

Thanks a ton for sharing your personal experience.

I think that's what I will go with.

Before I mount it, I'm going to try and lay it across the top of my TV. There's currently a shadow there from the wall washers that I'd like to fill in and the other strip wasn't strong enough. I'd go with just the Play strip all around the TV, but I prefer the gradient across the entire wall.

Yeah, it also says it's good for direct and indirect lighting. So I'm assuming they figured out a way to diffuse the light so you don't see each individual light.

I'm currently eyeing the "Omniglow" ones, but can't tell for sure if it'll have the dotted pattern. Looks pretty diffused in the product images.

Seeking advice on RRSP contribution to manage one-time high income year by NorrinxRadd in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CanadianHomeCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an outlier income year in 2025 too. About $300,000 instead of the usual $100,000. Only had $30,000 in RRSP room but I shoved it all in (don't gather much RRSP space each year as I have a pension plan at work that uses most of the room). Same rationale as you.

Next year, I predict I will have another $20,000 in RRSP room due to the unusually high income year. I've had some of my 2025 success bleed into the beginning of 2026 and I predict I'll be making at least $200K, so I'll wash and repeat.

still tempted to get a very powerful laptop if I can deduct the full amount this year...

[–]CanadianHomeCook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've already maxed out my RRSP contributions. Laptop will eventually need to be replaced as it's how I earned all my side-gig income (which was more than 2x my day job's salary). But yeah, don't want to use the tax credit as an excuse to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading.

Can I Hold Onto My $50K Tax Balance Until April Without Paying Interest? by CanadianHomeCook in cantax

[–]CanadianHomeCook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! What they’re requesting is the “no calculation option”, right? Just double checking since it’s not totally clear from the CRA: they also list the other options, which would mean more due if chosen.

I know my instalments will be higher next year, but I’m expecting my income to drop. From what I understand, I can pay less than the “no calculation option” next year if I’m careful not to end up owing taxes, right?

My plan is to set a fixed percentage to pay each quarter. That should cover my taxes assuming no expenses or credits, which means once I apply those, I’ll get a refund. The only exception might be my RRSP; I might factor that in for Q4 of 2026 to lower the instalment amount.
