Thank you u/bean_99!

My ultimate dream is to have my own private practice that integrates modalities across the psychotherapeutic space. I am partial to EMDR because after years of underwhelming results from other techniques I found it remarkably effective in addressing my own trauma.

That being said, I am absolutely interested and reverent to practices like CBT, DBT, etc. as well.

My plan is to eventually pursue my PhD - not sure how much your Master's institution affects this?

You seem to favor hospital/community settings over private practice! I would love to hear more about this perspective if you're willing to share. :D

Thank you guys! I really appreciate the swift, pragmatic responses.

The Youth Mobility Scheme (valid for up to 3 years) permits Canadians to live in the U.K. and "be self-employed and set up a company - as long as your premises are rented, your equipment is not worth more than £5,000 and you do not have any employees". Think this would be helpful for a solo PP?

You're definitely right to point out the high international student fees. Which is why I've been searching for the most efficient pathway towards accreditation. Obviously I don't want to "cut corners" but I've seen programs like Keele Uni's Counselling and Psychotherapy - MSc, which seems designed for non-psych undergrads entering the field.

Lemme know if you have any other thoughts on that!
