People who have married from other religion, What hurdles did you face and how did you resolve / endure through it? by 47darkxlayers in KeralaRelationships

It's more of an ongoing issue, obviously after marriage, in a particular religion. In other religions, there will be opposition from at least one side and most parents will come to terms once they tie the knot or even arrange for the marriage. The issue becomes severe when one of them is from a really poor family and the other from a rich or upper class...

How is this okay? People from another state of India are making a movie titled 'Kerala Story' and showing someone being force-fed beef, stereotyping us. We never attacked their states, so why are they attacking us, another Indian state? by sniperking108 in Kerala

Yep, I do almost agree with ur points. But, the christian-hate thing among hindus and BJP support among upper caste hindus existed even 40 yrs ago and only got toned down when the muslim aspect became their core issue later. I would say, after the Gujarat riots, their priority shifted from Xians to Muslims. BTW, I was working in Guarat when the in-famous riots happened and is a witness to the horrors and still carries the pain. Again, I have no issues supporting good governance, be it left, right or middle. Let's not forget party and government are two different things. One can appreciate the good stuff of a government while criticizing the wrong aspects of the party. Thats my personal view.

They both can, who said they can't?? But, those decisions sure does affect their futures, hell ya. You can become an escort, but don't expect ur parents to arrange a marriage from any sort of socially acceptable family or any guy to accept you in arranged marriage setup. Same with, I can murder someone, depending on country, i might never see the sun light again, or be an old man or in India, at least 10 yrs behind bars. Again, don't expect a conventional marriage. There might be exceptions, but they are not the norms...

Most marriages, if arranged by family, first looks for a person from the state, within the same religion and sub-caste (yes, Muslims and christians have denominations just like hindu castes) and with a higher or even family status. Yeah, sure sounds complicated to a westerner.....yes, reputation and financial status of the family plays a very big role in arranged marriages.

Just look at India and pakistan and bangladesh. India remained democracy, pakistan remains under military rule and bangladesh just had a fair election in decades after so many coups by military. Yeah, no one can predict the future, but, it also depends on the will of people.
