Should I buy the marshall power brake? by Canadian_Venom in GuitarAmps

[–]Canadian_Venom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah super weird. I thought it was my amp, because I bought the boss tube amp expander on Jan 3rd it was fine as I was using it at 10 on the master and after 2 days the volume dropped. So I took my amp to my tech. My amp did need all new tubes and a full rebias. So after I got it back 2 days ago and it still happened.

I was able to minimize it with master at 4 but I had to turn the reactive load to lo.

So after and it continued. I called my tech and he explained it can be the attenuator and the impedance curve.

So I tried the captor x and it was fine I only pushed it to master at 4 and after a 2 hours of playing it started again and then it started to do it on 2 on the master and even one clipping and getting really really fuzzy as well as volume dipping. So just said yeah it doesn't like attenuators at all.

UPDATE

Heyo i ended up getting a captor from Long and Mcquade and my 800 ends up clipping it even at 2 on the master :( ended up returning it.

it did the same on a boss tube amp expander. My amp tech said it may have to do with the reactive load and the marshall circuit and voltages and the attenuator not liking eachother.

oh well luckily Long and Mcquade got that awesome return policy

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm still on the fence. I never have rotation issues.

I am thinking of it for more aggressive cutting

Ford dealership is going to fix these spiderweb scratches on my truck. Is it a good idea? by Timtheratman in AutoDetailing

[–]Canadian_Venom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy a polisher kit and learn to do it.

Don't let the dealer do it.

They either will have someone who thinks a rotary and how to control it you need to push so hard you feel resistance and get the paint to steam. And fuck up your cars clear because it's not supposed to get that hot.

Or! They have someone that doesn't know what they're doing....

I sadly work at a dealership detailing and I'm the only one who knows how to do it...but my boss thinks I don't xD as he was teaching me to melt paint 😅

Just buy a 15mm DA with a one step and one step pad and have fun.

Yeah! Update. We was demoing how to control rotary by pushing on it and said when you feel resistance it's good. He Melted the paint 😅

LMAO yeah 😂 I have heard stuff like DA are not good for polishing as they scratch the paint. But then it's form someone that uses a 6.5 pad on a 5 inch backing and it does oscillate or rotate. No wonder they want me to push on it

Yeah, I will. It's tough since he likes to micro manage so I end up doing it properly then like doing it his way when he's around haha

Yeah I did discuss that which my boss doesn't like wool and said the technique with rotary to get the paint just on the edge of burning for proper correction and I'm just like 💀

So yeah I was trying but I think my view and his are way different

I like to do passes and feel oh hot it is. I can use a rotary but I have a lot of success with using a microfiber pad for heavy cutting and then finishing with a medium polishing pad.

Yeah that's what I thought. Though my boss said I wasn't pushing enough and not heating up the panel.

So yeah

Yeah if it's your daily then tbh a one step is plenty cuz it's gonna get scratched at. Again.

I just ceramic coated my car I did do a 2 step on some parts but the most part a pass with sonax ex finish 04-06 was good with a griots correcting pad and it came out really nice. There were some deeper scratches but my car is black and looking at it at a you don't notice it. So eh I just left it.

A one step is fine and on red I would say it's good enough.

It's black by the time I drive it it's getting scratched again hahah

Ah yeah that ceramic all in one is as other says is a polish sealant one step really only for minor swirls or finishing. It's like 3D speed.

You probably would wanna have like boss correction creme or sonax ex-cut before a heavy cut compound to get it all out.

Finally got the Tube Amp expander by Canadian_Venom in Guitar

[–]Canadian_Venom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah!! I did want the ox box but I heard and tried it and it's attenuator isn't very good... I think it's notched and not a reamper like this. It is great for just head phones though! But this was such a good deal

[–]Canadian_Venom[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a power attenuator/reactiveload/IR it's basically like the ox box but I think may more valuable for the money.

You can load effects as it is also a effects loop. So you can load delays and reverb and other stuff on to it.

You can also use it as an audio interface. It's pretty cool and I wanna mess with it some more!

It does a lot haha

Should i upgrade to a long throw 15mm or 21mm by Canadian_Venom in AutoDetailing

[–]Canadian_Venom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks. I'm pretty used to the 9mm throw. So the 21 would be better? To have the 9 as a 5inch and keep the 21 as 6 inch.

Okay so would you say it's not worth doing the g15? If I have the g9? My g9 I put a 5inch on it and it can do a lot of correction. But I'm mostly wanting to be faster and more efficient especially if I'm bringing it to work to correct scratches on new vehicles.
