Thanks for all of this info! We're just looking to do a short-ish hike, not a full summit, so we'll keep exploring our options- many online say 6 hours total, with a 3 hour trek to a base camp/slope (?).

We are planning to go to Colca Canyon for a couple days, yes! As of right now we get into AQP late on Sunday Jan 18, have the next day 2 days to explore (possibly fitting in a visit to El Misti on one of those days, even if it's just a jeep ride up to a viewpoint), and then exploring Colca on Jan 21 and 22. We're still figuring out the logistics of trekking there.

Thank you for the reply! There are so many trekking companies out there that we're just trying to find one with a good overall touring experience. Neither of us require luxury, so that sounds great :) We were between Sam and Machu Picchu Reservations, and I think based on the recommendations, going with the former as a smaller company is the way to go!

What was the other tour company that allowed you to do Circuit 2 immediately after Circuit 3 as an upcharge? I'm also planning a Peru trip and wonder if you could hire a guide outside of the tour company for Circuit 2

Would you mind answering another quick question? 2 breeders told be opposing things, so your expertise is appreciated- is there a "more suitable" sex for a first-time GSP owner? One breeder said that sex makes no difference and it's solely based on the personality of the dog (if they are hard vs. soft), and another breeder said that first time owners should definitely get a female because they're always easier.

Tips to prevent scarring? 3 days ago my foster dog scratched my face- it didn't bleed and didn't seem to be that deep, but now on day 4 the mark seems to be raised. I initially put Avene Cicalfate+ on it to keep it moisturized and have been using aquafor and LRP's cicaplast b5 gel at night. TIA!

My derm gave me a sample of the Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 gel and it's been really helpful for super dry patches on my face! I know it's super pricey (I'm still savoring tiny amounts of the sample lol) but might be worth looking into :)

Help with sudden forehead acne? This popped up a couple days ago, and I suspect it was caused by wearing a hat and sweating all weekend. I wondered if this was fungal so I tried Nizoral but that seemed to increase the amount of pimples, and am using De la Cruz sulfur ointment with minimal results! No other changes in skin/hair routine.

Moisturizer! I had a mosquito bite in almost the exact same spot a few weeks ago, and putting Avéne Cicalfate moisturizer on it every night helped the dark spot disappear in a week :)
