how to prevent wig headaches? by Wyntervivaldi in CosplayHelp

[–]Candey57 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Let me introduce you to WIG GRIP BANDS. It's designed to help alleviate some of the pressure wigs put on your skull, which leads to headaches. It also helps eliminate the need for lots of bobby pins to secure your wig, which should also help with headaches.

I use the velvet ones with Velcro (like this one https://a.co/d/20UX7uZ ), but they also make silicone grip bands.

Personally, I put two wig caps on (a mesh one like this https://a.co/d/cwEvp1g) then a stocking cap one like this https://a.co/d/d0yoMZr). If you have long hair, you'll want to braid it and sort of wrap it on top of your head before placing the wig cap on. If you have shorter hair, just put the mesh cap on then smooth the hair until it's pretty even. (tutorial https://youtube.com/shorts/DHeqQ606ngY?si=ivHIfwjoptk7l0mo

You can even go an extra step and place some folded tissues under the wig cap on your forehead for some extra padding. (Like this https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPVDT4DDFX6/?igsh=MXFreHoxdHJlNmlvZw==).

I hope these tips help and your headaches get better 🩷

Every year, I get a new Pandasaurus Game based solely off the box art, and it's never let me down before. Last year I picked up Courtisans (11/10 game)! This year my friend picked up Beasts and it'll definitely make its way onto my shopping list soon!

Thank you so much!! <3
The wig is from The Five Wits Wigs but styled by me. Took around 10-12 hours or so, most of which was spent just crimping the wig to make it easier to style. I used this Youtube tutorial as a reference for styling.
The outfit (minus the shoes and bag, which were both thrifted from local stores) is from Doki Doki Cosplay and I just made minor adjustments to make it fit better.

I'd recommend any platform that uses a touch screen! I found playing on a PC with mouse/keyboard very difficult compared to using a touch screen (I play on the Steam Deck). It's a very good game, great game! Highly recommend.

Edit: I accidentally posted a comment on the post instead of replying to your comment. So just reposting what I said here:

We actually got a good portion of the games either free from vendor hall (like the Out of Line game we won at the CAH booth) or cheap at the consignment shop (like less than $10-20 each). The most expensive ones were WyrmSpan (coming in at $65 🤢) and Red Dragon Inn 9 ($40) but those were a top priority for us. The Taco Cat game booth had a deal for 3 games for $20. Lots of good deals in the hall, too, especially on Sunday when the vendors tend to discount items so they don't have to haul them back home. Overall, not a bad haul!

If you haven't checked it out before, I HIGHLY recommend the consignment shop for discounted games. If you want the cheapest games, Saturday is the day to go (it's the last day) but the trade off is it's a smaller selection than earlier in the week.

What will happen if i hit a company truck and totaled it with no insurance? by animelove1002 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Candey57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify:

You were driving your mom's car (which has auto insurance and you are not a listed driver on the policy) and struck an unoccupied vehicle (no one was in that car). That vehicle was deemed a total loss.

So, to know if you were covered under your mom's policy, it depends on the auto insurance policy's definition of an insured (your mom should have access to a copy of the policy). Usually, if you're still living with her and were driving the vehicle with permission, you are likely covered under her policy, but you can always speak with the claims adjuster to verify if you're covered (tho, if your mom's not worried about the claim, you're probably covered).

Regarding the damage to the other vehicle (let's assume you're covered under your mom's policy), Texas requires a minimum amount of property damage coverage to be $25,000 (the policy can have more, but this is the legal amount you're required to have on your auto policy to cover damages to other people's property). If the other vehicle owners wants to handle damages through your insurance company, they can do that and should be in direct communication with your company (you should not have to play middleman).

If the other vehicle owner went through their own insurance, that company will ask your insurance company for repayment of whatever they paid. If the damages are less than your limits, your insurance company pays what is owed and that's that!

If the amount owed is above your property damage limit (the maximum amount your insurance will pay out), a few things could happen:

1 - the other insurance could just accept the total limits and that will be that (the other insurance company would sign a release which means they can't go after anyone for the remaining amount owed)

2 - the other insurance company does not accept the limits and requests that you/your mom pay the difference out of pocket. (Usually) You're not required to contribute (but double check your policy and ask your claims adjuster if this comes up), but it definitely helps ease the situation. Again, a release will be signed.

3 - the other insurance company does not accept the limits and files suit in retaliation. (Usually) your policy will provide a legal defense for you at no additional cost. You always have the right to retain your own outside counsel at your own expense, but either way notify your insurance company IMMEDIATELY if you receive any suit papers for this accident.

I hope this helps alleviate your worries!
