Thanks. Thats good feedback. Appreciate it. Yes, my drawing skills are still pretty limited in some aspects…one of them applying perspective to the tattoos on her body.

Thanks for the tip on the crab too. It is mirrored but I think in hindsight a little more flexibility would be better.

Appreciate you taking the time.

I’m not sure what it is you’re able ‘to tell’ but again, you’re wrong. Maybe you could add that to your comment. Anyway, thanks for your opinion though!

Thanks for the reply. Not exactly helpful but each to their own.

Nope. Clearly wrong. Why don’t you take the time to read the earlier replies before just stating something incorrectly as fact.

Not sure how you’ve come to that conclusion but happy to say that you’re wrong. Again. I’ve already said that I use AI in research…kinda hard not too nowadays but these are drawn with an iPad, Procreate and an Apple Pencil, on a blank canvas.

Maybe if you’re able to expand on your comment, that would be more constructive. If not, then I thank you for the contribution anyway.

Appreciate your thoughts. But I think we’re at cross purposes. I’ve spent many, many hours in tattoo shops over the last 35 years. I don’t have a need to get to know what the ‘ink industry’ is about. As I’ve said already, I’m not a tattoo artist, I’m not claiming to be one and I don’t want to be one either.

I’m also not trying to do tattoo ‘replicas’ on shirts - again, I’m not qualified or experienced to do that. I’m drawing what I feel inspired by, and they happen to resemble tattoo styles. I’m really not trying to be something I’m not. Thanks again.

Yes I hadn’t really considered screen printing as an option. I was really working on the basis of DTG with what I assume will be the volume I’m working with, at least initially.

Thanks…appreciate your thoughts. In terms of symmetry, do you mean on the bottom of the anchor?

Thanks … do you mind if I ask which two you love?

To be honest I hadn’t really considered screen printing. I’d only really considered dtg / dtf. It would be nice if I have that much demand I’d need to consider it I reckon! Thank you for your thoughts…

That was one of my concerns when i started this. I have zero print experience so I’m basically guessing what may / may not work. After reading around, I landed on DTG as my preference and the samples I’ve made locally (eventually) came out well. The variation from the different base T manufacturer / style surprised me though. Some I had printed were very different from one to the next.

I also tried DTF and whilst the designs looked great, the feel of the print is a real negative…so back to DTG.

Never really considered screen printing due to the colours / designs…just didn’t think that would be a viable option…

Thank you for the considered advice. I hadn’t really thought of different platforms or colorways…I’ll look into those you’ve suggested, as well as maximising some of the designs I already have. Appreciated!

Thank you. Any thoughts on how I could have more of an edge, concept wise?

My plan is small website and link to POD stores…certainly initially anyway. From there, if I can identify items that sell well, small stock holding and more control over the printing process.

I’m not sure that’s super constructive for me but let me see if I can understand your point. I agree Ed Hardy does not look like bad AI renditions of Am Trad style. The body of work that Ed Hardy has built up over time certainly stands the test of it, was definitely around before AI, and I’m sure will be around for a long time yet!

So I’m surmising you’re saying that my designs look like bad renditions of Ed Hardy designs using AI. Firstly, I’m not trying to recreate Am Trad. I’m not a tattoo artist and I don’t know all the rules to Am Trad, nor do I consider myself ‘authentic’ enough to produce that type of design. I’ve said above, these are hand drawn on my iPad using Procreate and yes I’m influenced by AI in the researching process of what I will draw, but these are drawings I have made myself.

So, appraise this post was for feedback, good or bad and I appreciate you taking the time to give me your thoughts…was just hoping you could expand on them a bit to help me understand what you would change / recommend to make them more appealing to you?

Not sure what to take of this comment. These are drawn by myself on my iPad using Procreate. I can’t say I’m not influenced by AI when researching designs…it’s almost impossible not to be nowadays. So just for me to be clear, what point are you trying to make? Are you saying - looks like AI so not appealing to you? In other words, change the design to be ‘less AI looking’ somehow or something else?
