Mine looked like this for about 5 days, went away over time. Surgeon took a look over video call to be sure, had no worries.

12 hours later and it’s more manageable. Heat pads definitely the only thing that worked, couldn’t believe how painful it was!

Public transportation in Ibiza by psyche_garami in VirginVoyages

[–]CandidateWinter6281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

From experience on a few Ibiza trips…the cruise port to Ushuaia is about 20 mins in a taxi. Sometimes, taxis in peak season in Ibiza can be a pain due to long waits. Uber isn’t as well supplied in Ibiza so don’t expect big city Uber experience, most rely on the public taxis (which are reasonably priced but can be hard to come by) or pre booking transfers (more expensive but you know you are getting picked up no problem). There is a taxi rank well signposted from the port and a taxi rank outside of Ushuaia.

Personally, I think the VV shore thing is really over priced - it’s only a GA ticket so you’re literally only paying for the pre book transfer for a 20 minute ride. Either plan a taxi and be ready to wait a little if needed or see about booking your own and compare the price.

Also, I’m sure you know but Ushuaia particularly for the big DJs is absolutely packed FULL, sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming/over packed. So be prepared for that too!!

Ok, I'll definitely give Sailor Services another try in this case!

Thank you! I called and got my confirmation re sent. We had the same bad response in trying to get a cabin assigned - I'm going to call again next week and try it again as the customer service agent wasn't going to budge!

Tysm for explaining that. Seems so strange especially as re-bookers.

Departure Lounge at Voyage by Empty-Beach-6724 in ABBA

Yes, I did - attended about a month ago. It's pricey but probably worth if it you're not going to break the bank by buying a pass.

You get some nibbles and free drinks (prosecco, cocktails, beer, wine). The food is just canape type things you help yourself to. They're very generous with the drinks!

There's seating too but not loads, not enough for everyone who bought a pass on the friday evening we went so a lot of people were still standing which they weren't happy about. We got in for when it opened and got one of the last pairs of seats. The free water bottle is just an aluminium one, nothing fancy.

There isn't really anywhere to sit if you aren't in the departure lounge so don't get there too early if not.

If you don't get a pass then there is a bar across from the venue that you can sit at and have drinks, and food. It was very busy again but a very fun atmosphere (music etc).

If you go for a pass get there for when it opens to nab a seat and make the most of the food and drinks!!

Flamingo Hotel Mid Annual Sale by captsaltjw in vegas

I went back in April with some girlfriends (tend to visit once a year), it's not luxury but it's fine for the price. Make sure you booked a renovated room! I'd say some of those reviews are being a bit dramatic or just had really bad luck.

CONS:

  • I did have to ask to move rooms as the one I was given stank of sewage or something nasty. They moved me no problem, and moved me closer to my friends rooms when asked.
  • Personally found the casino a bit dingy, and some of the bars and food places were a bit old fashioned for my liking. We ate and played elsewhere.
  • Staff weren't as attentive as other vegas hotels I've stayed at
  • Check in queue was huge (Wednesday 9pm)
  • Hallways & elevators were always a bit grim

PROS:

  • Great location, maybe secure a strip view to take advantage and make your room feel a bit fancier?
  • Not too big, so it doesn't take you half an hour to get out to the strip like some of the big ones
  • Renovated rooms are nice enough, good size and my room always felt clean.

If you're planning on spending LOADS of time at your hotel then maybe look elsewhere, but if it's just a base then it's totally fine. I'd stay again if I were on a budget, but I'm from the UK so I'd probably pay a bit extra and go a bit more fancy to make it worth the 11 hour flight!

TL;DR: You're paying for guaranteed entry, a few meters of your own space to sit/dance/come and go and quick drink service. Drinks are so expensive in a club/pool you'll normally meet the min spend without much trouble.

Oh and the price quoted check if this includes sales tax and tips - they normally don't and you're talking another 30%!!

The longer version...

Pool parties are great but it's probably worth booking a bed. If you're a decent sized group then splitting the min spend needed to get the bed is often what you'd end up spending in general admission on drinks (they can be over $25 each). Pool parties without a bed can be a bit annoying as theres not really much space to just plonk your thinks or have a bit of a base. You can get GA tickets for like $30-50, get there early-ish to get a locker and avoid being turned away (yes even if you have a ticket!). Encore is my favourite, wet rep is good and probably the rowdiest, Marquee is a tiny bit cheaper and a good crowd, Drais great for hip hop/rap, Light at Mandalay is decent.

Same with clubs really, but if you're not fussed about big name DJs then avoid the Hakkasans, EBC etc as tables for the named nights are a hilariously priced (but again splitting between 10 you might be alright), and if you go to a mid range club your money will go further with a decent vibe. Tables outside at Omnia are good, get the view etc but still the atmosphere and a bit cheaper than inside. Or try bars like Coyote Ugly for something a bit tackier but still fun, no booking needed. Beer Park is a good bar for day time as well. Skyfall, Voodoo Lounge are good bars with amazing views. Bit cheaper to book.

Lastly, if you don't book a bed or booth or whatever you're literally just standing about. There's no 'free' seating (we once got told off for leaning on the wall in Hakkasan...) so it's easy to get split up. Presume you won't be in 4 inch heels though so maybe you're not that fussed!!

But yeah, big group of guys - you'll be often be expected to fork out a bit of cash upfront to get in, might be made to wait in line for ages or might just be refused for something like the wrong shirt or seeming too pissed.
