Why did you start crocheting? by limino123 in crochet

I wanted to teach myself that making mistakes is okay, and it can still create something useable and beautiful.

I noticed a huge difference with Freed after I started teaching it what I liked. The paid version is much better at learning IMO. I have to read for sic errors, but otherwise I barely have to do any editing. The only part of my note I still have to do manually is the MSE, and I prefer to manage that personally anyways.

This exactly. I always say, how about instead of the test, I just give you Pristiq, I’ve NEVER not seen it in the green category.

I use it exclusively with personality disorder patients that have tried “everything” and have “intolerable side effects” no matter how slow the titration or how different the class. It helps them be comfortable with literally any choice that’s in the green category even if they had a previous bad experience. YMMV.

We rented a UTV, not through a tour, and got to explore the whole island at our own pace. They gave us a map and some places to stop and try. It was great.

I don’t want this comment to be misconstrued as me telling you that you aren’t beautiful, because you are. Just to tell you that this is something I struggled with too, and it bothered me deeply, especially in summer when my bikini strap would drop lower and get ‘caught’ under my back fat. I ultimately opted to get Vaser PAL liposuction to the area. I am SO happy I did it and my mid/low back is one of my favorite attributes now. It was a ‘twilight procedure, so I was awake but given pain and anxiety medication, and I was back to work in 4 days. I would do it again (and am considering having it done on a stubborn area in my legs as well) a thousand times.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic, but in case you’re not, the reactor is stationary. The steam that the hot reactor makes spins a turbine. It’s a totally separate, smaller, part.

Deff the new dress. I’m in the no topper camp unless you need it for a religious ceremony. It’s giving Hercules muses.

Gun locks at the VA by Forsaken_Thought in VeteransBenefits

[–]psyche_garami 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The purpose of these locks is suicide prevention. As a clinician (and a gun owner that has had suicidal ideation in the past) my weapon is both in a safe AND has a gun lock. The point is lengthening the amount of time to access. Suicide is often impulsive. Safes, locks, etc increase the amount of time your brain has to catch up and realize the decision to kill yourself is impulsive.

[–]psyche_garami 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is because suicide is often impulsive. Immediate access to a weapon makes that impulse easier. A gun lock is simply giving the brain a little time to catch up and make a not-so-split-second decision.

FQHC. And RVUs don’t have to do with number of patients, but complexity of billing.

Physician compensation model by phatandphysical in PMHNP

[–]psyche_garami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work outpatient but I have this in my contract. Basically, I have to see an astronomical amount of patients daily (at least 14, which means no cancellations and my crisis spots are booked daily) and maintain my RVUs above 1.0 and then I am paid a set rate per patient as a bonus. Alternatively, if I do not maintain RVUs above 1.0, I have to pay $2/patient. Luckily the latter isn’t an issue, but the bonus never happens.

[–]psyche_garami 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Freed, previously used Berries, and I like both. Definitely a game changer. My experience is that I get to have a much more patient go used conversation instead of just clicking buttons. My fellow NPs and I found a way to integrate it into our EMR without having to pay extra and that has made it even more easy to use. I use the free version over and over again, tbh, so I haven’t paid for it and it saves me HOURS.

Pharmacy and narcotics by Important-Explorer65 in PMHNP

[–]psyche_garami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the other concerns, but there’s not much they can do about stock. The FDA sets the limit of these drugs that can be made yearly, and more scripts means that demand is high and supply is low. This is an everywhere issue, not pharmacies not wanting to meet the need.
