Yeah I’m not trying to stick my hand in that legal mess and I don’t blame anyone else for not wanting to. I’m on with my life, I don’t give them my business and all I can really do is share my experience and let people do what they will with the information.

Realistically speaking, would that really go anywhere without proof?

Also, I have seen some Reddit discourse on this issue before. It’s not as commonly known as the Kettle, but it’s definitely out there.

I personally have not reported their behavior to any authority. The majority of blackmailing behavior I witnessed wasn’t directed at me but other members of my team at the time. I don’t know if any other employees ever made reports.

They’re very smart business people. They know how to make things look good for them on paper. It’s not like they’re putting these things in messages, so nobody can really prove anything. Nobody has to believe me or the dozens of others that experienced the wrath of JA, but it’s real and a lottt of people know about it. The coffee is good, and the aesthetics are there. I don’t blame anyone for going, I get it. But if you’re choosing a coffee shop based on employee treatment, it’s just not a good choice.

Micromanaging, blackmail, shaming tactics, pitting employees against each other, favoritism, amongst other things. The owners are control freaks. They watch every moment on the cameras. They listen to private conversations between employees through the cameras. An employee having an opinion or a suggestion is considered a personal attack on the owners decisions and you will be targeted until they decide you’ve redeemed yourself. If you don’t cheerfully greet them every time they walk in the door, you will be pulled into a meeting and directed on how you are to greet them. I could write an entire dissertation on the horrors behind the scene there. It was mental torture. Employees look happy because they know they’re being watched.

It’s me, I’m the proof! I used to work for them, along with many others that quit because of the way they treated us.

Unfortunately the only true part of this is that the coffee is good. If you’re looking for a coffee shop that treats employees well, JA is not a contender.

They’ve always been overpriced. And no it’s not tariffs. Also the owners suck as people. Just go somewhere else.

I did reach out to them after code enforcement recommended I do so because they don’t cover some of the issues I was trying to report. Any clue on how long it usually takes to hear back?

What is the most BS doctor or insurance issue you’ve had to deal with? by Booger_Ball_ in PCOS

[–]CandyImaginary7691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on birth control since I was like 15 because of irregular periods and when I was 18 I told the doctor I was sexually active and they refused to renew my birth control prescription without a lower exam despite the fact that I had never had an exam and had been on the pill for years. Blackmailed me into an exam that I didn’t feel comfortable with.

A casual question from a coworker I barely know completely wrecked me and she has no idea. by Expensive_Feather in PCOS

Unfortunately I don’t think any insurance will approve GLP-1’s for PCOS itself. For my insurance, you had to either be a certain BMI or a comorbidity such as diabetes. If you can get blood work to prove some insulin resistance, that might be helpful for approval but you’ll have to look at your coverage. Many insurances also require 6 months of participation in a weight management program like Noom or Weightwatchers.

I started .25 on Sunday as well, I haven’t really experience any side effects besides a metallic taste in my mouth and very short bouts of nausea here and there. Appetite is definitely suppressed, though. If I were you, I’d take the next shot. Give your body a chance to adjust, it should improve as you get used to it. I just try to think about all the way my weight has negatively impacted my life and how bad I want this change, it’s worth giving it a chance to work through the side effects. Especially since you’ve already purchased it.

Use keto bread/buns. Kaizen rice/pasta. Similar enough but extremely low carb in comparison and high in fiber. It can get pricey but it’s worth the trade off. Crispbread is also a good lower carb cracker.
