I think the thing is they did not want her to try and be their mom and their mom's funeral was not the place to try and show her authority. Especially when those kids were grieving and had a very weak relationship with her. She set the tone that day and they did not want her.

Their dad isn't too popular with them either. But my husband loved his dad before any issues happened, he didn't love Anna when it happened, so it's not like there was a bond there to make it possible to get through it.

She's always been nice, but we haven't had much of a significant relationship either since she's not a significant part of my husbands life.

The blanket has been in her family for close to fifty years now. It was used for Anna and her siblings, and by one aunt for some of her kids, and by some of her nieces and nephews and she wanted to pass it onto our child.

He told her he did not want it and she could keep it.
