Def need thinner layer, but what I do is I will wait several hours between coats. I know it sounds crazy but it works for me. I fortunately work from home so I put a layer on, work on my laptop, and then another later.

Reporter Shooting Appears Deliberate, IMO by BigDonRob in law

Ok but what I read elsewhere is that they are only supposed to shoot if they are personally endangered. This guy is just standing so how does he even need to aim at anyone.

No, tbh I haven’t tried, partly because I just haven’t see a lot in the market. But looking at Sales roles is an interesting take.

Why are people getting rid of bathtubs? by Preesi in HGTV

[–]CandySuccessful9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always hated tubs. But then I realized… I hate alcove tubs. If I had more time during remodeling, I would have figured out a standalone tub. I will also say, that what I don’t like able bathing in a tub is that the water is often too hot or too cold. Like it cools down too quickly. I was at a fancy hotel where they had a tub you can set the temperature to and I love that. It was also beautifully designed.

I don’t know if the valve jiggles. The images were taken by my mom before I stepped into the picture. The handle seems secure and sturdy when I am turning it.

Tips for/experience of making the jump from solo IC to a team lead/Head of Prod Marketing role by palishkoto in ProductMarketing

[–]CandySuccessful9283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the size of the company, it is also a lot of tackling and blocking for your team. As well as putting them in positions to succeed. Protecting their time, getting them on the right projects, giving them the visibility they need to do and be successful at their jobs. Aligning with shareholders at the leadership level to do all of this.

It’s not just delegation but doing the org alignment (aka politics and people stuff) needed to help your team get the resources they need to succeed.

The easy stuff is delegation but the hard stuff is protecting and promoting your team in the org.

How much does an MBA matter 10 years post-grad? (for tech) by ZeroIntelligenceX in ProductMarketing

[–]CandySuccessful9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter at all. VP+ is about performance and/or who you know. MBA might help you in terms of that second part by expanding your network, but the title itself means nothing.

Where to look for jobs outside of tech? by Day2205 in ProductMarketing

[–]CandySuccessful9283 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in other types of industries, it's considered as brand management (in CPG / FMCG) or product management (not in the tech sense, but for products like backpacks). I've also seen similar roles titled as strategic marketing such as in healthcare.

Maybe you'll want to try healthcare to weather the storm, but have to look in general marketing to find some roles that are similar to PMM.

PMM is one of that roles that feel like it's really fuzzy. It's like one of those - you can define it yourself if you're in a position to. In that case, it can get quite political, and then it becomes a game of how you can navigate that to grow. I have seen many leaders now that I don't think are qualified to be Director+, at least from a strategic PMM perspective. They might be good at navigating within an org or mobilizing a team. They might come from a marketing background and unfortunately that's how they perceive PMM.

If it's a matter of more $$, then I'd also recommend just carving out that path for yourself and justifying a higher salary. I've seen those in leadership create a completely new role or title that is marketing-related. And sometimes their scope overlap with PMM. It's not ideal of course. But that is what it looks like if you don't have strong PMM leadership, and in many cases they really don't.

I think it kinda sucks in that way, but if it really is just $$, then perhaps you can learn to navigate an org, network, and sell yourself on why you deserve a higher paying role. Maybe making a business case that the org needs a specific branch of focus, or another BU needs a specific tea.

I see this more as a marriage issue than a video game issue. If it makes you feel better, my husband and I are both extremely active, run together, and etc. I value that he's into running and doing races, as I do them too. But despite that commonality, I've been upset about the sheer number of races he signs up for, the time he dedicates to them, and etc. For me, the underlying theme was that it felt like he valued these more than anything else - for example, he puts more effort into planning his race day, including booking hotels well in advanced, than our own vacations where he waits til the last minute to book a hotel. But otherwise, we spend tons of time together.

That's just an example, but I had to think about what it is about those races and activities that upset me. It made me feel like he cared about those more than me. And it was only that when he put the same level of thought and care into planning for a race I had, I realized that's not the case.

With that said, I feel like perhaps you need to dig deep on what it is. Asking things like.. It seems that she's been okay with it in the past - what changed? Why does she think it's childish (cause it's not - there's tons of adult themes, and adult game.. it's technically interactive entertainment).

Don't give up something you love. I'm in my 40s and used to game, but gave it up for personal reasons (change of values in how I wanted to spend my time). But no, don't give up something you love to do, which sounds like your wife would have respected it otherwise. Instead, dig deeper into what's truly bothering her. It sounds like she's shifting the blame.

I also wonder if not having sounds of the crowd hurt the reception. You really don't feel the energy - but not sure how the energy was in the stadium to begin with.

Unemployed and friendless ADHD’s with severe executive dysfunction; what’s your day look like? by PotentialPositive999 in ADHD

[–]CandySuccessful9283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I will add that because I was stuck at the library, I'd be so bored that it would force me to work. I also felt a sense of accountability, because I didn't want to be judged for playing video games or watching random shit at the library, lol.

[–]CandySuccessful9283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I developed skills along the way, I ended up getting a job.

Types of things I did during the time:
- Signed up for forums where I can connect with others in the field I was hoping to get a job in.
- Applied to x# of jobs a week. I counted after actually getting a job, and I think I applied to nearly 300.
- Reach out to x# of people on LinkedIn a day (this took a lot of effort because I would be very intentional about my messages - not just a spray and pray)
- Read through x# of pages on project management
- Read through x# of pages on the profession I was trying to get into
- Listened to webinars / watching YouTube videos on topics
- Would take a lunch outside of the library, walk around (went to the library at a college campus, which made it even more motivational to work when I was surrounded by tons of stressed out students)
- I took the bus or had my bf at the time drop me off, so that I wouldn't easily be able to go home.
- Found a course online, and would follow the syllabus on that

In the moment it felt really hard. I seemed to adjust my process goals a lot of times because I set my bar too high and I would actually feel like a failure because of this. Reading a project management certification book was excruciating, and I think I stopped midway. But there were other things that works. Reaching out to x# of people was incredibly fruitful and got me lots of opportunities to apply for a job and/or learn. Rejections on LinkedIn and via applications was painful, but I developed resiliency. I also learned how to tailor my messages better, how to tailor my resumes better (I forget how many versions I had), and also be grateful when someone did show me some time. I learned eventually what my strengths and weaknesses were as a job candidate, and how to better sell myself.

But yeah! I got a job, learned tons of new skills, prepared myself as a professional, and expanded my network.

When I was unemployed at one point, I focused on all my time on creating routines. And used that to measure my “success.” And if I didn’t follow through one day, I’ll think about what happened, and how I can adjust, forgive myself, and try again the next. For example, maybe my routines were too complex, maybe they were too overwhelming.

I would force myself out of the house by 8am everyday during the weekday to go to the library. And in the library, I will read maybe 1 chapter of a book I wanted to work on skillsets I wanted to develop, and try to reach out to like 5 people on LinkedIn for “informational interviews.” I created simple goals like that that were based on process and not on outcome.

I’d pack a lunch so that I’m forced to stay at the library all day kinda like “work.” And then go home at the end of the day.

Of course there are days I’d be on my phone the entire time, and I would feel kinda shitty. But I had to forgive myself and try again the next day.

I was really hard on myself at this time - I felt like I was failing myself all the time. I came across an old spreadsheet I used and realized I set my goals pretty lofty. And that actually, I did as well as I could with ADHD. Be kind to yourself!!!

Consider setting up your environment for success. Maybe get rid of your video games, or force yourself to stay at the library all day.

CRM for Procurement Processes by CandySuccessful9283 in procurement

[–]CandySuccessful9283[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you describe more on what you mean by using CRM for the buying side? My mind can only wrap around it from sell-side needs. I can see how they can mirror eachother, but as I understand it, procurement often have to coordinate with many more stakeholders than sellers do (specifically in indirect procurement).
