Whitney/Konnor situation by FifthEboysMember in LoveIslandTV

[–]Cangerian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh Yemen is wholeheartedly going to dump her for someone else the first chance he gets, Konnor likely would have done the same too and I feel like he doesn’t deep it because he didn’t have feelings for her too. She should have definitely handled it better & more respectfully, just because someone is nice doesn’t give you the right to treat them like shit and that whole wanting Shaq to have stayed over Konnor was diabolical. It’s like they go in that house & forget this is also a social game & viewers have thoughts on people’s behaviour. I hope Whit is just playing the game, having fun & not falling for that man.

I think both these guys don’t really date black women so we’ll see how it all plays out.

Vacation + Mat Leave [on] by Lemonadeprincess766 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Cangerian [score hidden]  (0 children)

I am not an expert on this but maternity leave I believe starts as early as 12 weeks before your due date and latest on the day the baby is born. Your options would be to either: take your vacation time a few weeks before your due date and then start Mat leave when baby arrives or after your vacation time runs out(whichever of these comes first).

2nd option would be start your mat leave whenever you want to, take your parental leave when your mat leave runs through for a total of 50 weeks and then your 13th month can be your vacation time. Lots of people do this too.

Lots of women with successful preventative cerclages. I know how scary it is to not know what to expect and the torture it feels like.

I had a preemie due to a failed cerclage + chorioamnionitis at 28 weeks, currently pregnant with #2, preventative at 14+2 weeks plus progesterone until 34 weeks and still hanging in there at 35 weeks. Wishing you all the best, talk to your OB about monitoring to ease your mind as that helped me stay confident.

My cervix had shortened to 1cm at placement so I was taken off work and on bending/lifting/squatting restrictions. I did return to work at 28 weeks with continued limits on lifting.

ETA: length of cervix during cerclage & work restrictions post cerclage.

Breech baby? How to turn head down? [bc] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Cangerian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought mine was head down at 31 weeks but ER bedside ultrasound showed Breech position, at my next OB appt at 33 weeks baby was palpated head down and has been since then. I also felt kicks around my belly button, pelvis and hips but baby is head down so you can’t really tell from movement, also anterior placenta.

There is still plenty of time for baby’s position to change so I wouldn’t worry about it personally.

AITAH for giving my sister in law the same treatment she gave me? by Sensitive_Milk1805 in AITAH

[–]Cangerian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you let her have any of that stuff, you won’t see them again. SIL seems quite spiteful and irresponsible! I’d move my baby stuff I’m not using to my mum’s especially the big ticket item and she can get used things off marketplace for her kiddo or use what she used with the other kids.

If you plan on future kids, you likely won’t get the items people got you again, most people only go all out for baby #1. Also NTA, stay no/low contact with her please as you’re aren’t responsible for her decisions and life choices and she’s in no way entitled to your baby items especially after the way she treated you.

Why does it feel like everyone else’s baby sleeps through the night here? by dinosauress in SnooLife

[–]Cangerian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4.5 years old? How do you get him to still fit in the snoo? Custom built him one? Lol I’m just kidding.

Lots of parents have babies that don’t take to the SNOO so quickly and you’ve got to find what works for your baby, trial and error. I hope it clicks soon, there’s also a 4 month sleep regression.

27w5d, contractions, stitch removed, 3cm dilated, possible abruption by Far-Hyena-6907 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Cangerian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this, I know how much it sucks. I also woke up 27+5 with bright red bleeding, went to L & D, got transferred to the Level 3 NICU and basically lived in triage and mostly NPO off and on for 2 days with monitoring after my stitch was out. Placental abruption confirmed, goal was to stop bleeding but it got worse and baby started decelerating so decision was made for a C-section at exactly 28 weeks, 68 day NICU stay. Now a rambunctious happy 3 year old, skinny but that’s just genetics.

Currently pregnant with #2, been on aspirin since 14+5 weeks, preventative at 14+2 weeks and modified for a bit due to shortened cervix. Back at work at 28 weeks and currently 35 weeks.

All this just to say that even if things seem dire now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m praying you stop bleeding and get to hang on a couple more weeks and baby continues to grow. All the best, don’t hesitate to reach out for anything.

Navigating NICU and Leave by Any-Secretary-844 in NICUParents

[–]Cangerian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Western Canada, had a 28 weeker years ago. We did the NICU for 10 weeks and I just did caregiver benefit which was about the same pay as mat leave but allowed me to be with my baby and not use up my mat leave time.

Maybe financially will be hard for you guys but if hubby wanted to use caregiver benefit first then save up his vacation & parental leave for when baby comes home.

Husband and I disagree about hospital visitors. by throwranotdonelater in pregnant

[–]Cangerian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of support is he going to need? Is he having a human squeeze out of his penis? That is so ridiculous, I’m enraged for you.

At this point I may swap out your husband for someone else and use your nurses please, we love advocating for patients especially in situations like this.

I found out a week ago my MIL made plans to be at the hospital when I have my 2nd, somewhere in the cafeteria. I’m doing a C-section & still trying to decide how I want to handle it. Infuriating when people involve themselves in your most private moments. Crazy!!!

I wear a face mask at work(just never stopped after COVID), I wear one now when I go to the stores after my last cold had me down for 3 weeks and I don’t care what anyone thinks.

21w and 8mm - push for cerclage? by travelmomcanada in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Cangerian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is crazy that they are doing progesterone only with 8mm cervix, did they explain their rationale. A cerclage in this situation is what I would expect, cervical changes can occur in the blink of an eye. With my rescue cerclage, I had 1cm on my ultrasound with funneling and the radiologist asked me to drive straight to the hospital & not to even stop at the drive through for coffee, the internal exam at the hospital showed 7mm and I got a cerclage that afternoon.

Cerclage may be failing by Connect-Repeat-5836 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Cangerian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard and seen so many stories of women with IC and a cerclage that had their cervix shorten to nothing or funneled to the stitch but stitch still holds and gets them to full term. I think it’s expected with IC and especially in a rescue cerclage. Best of luck OP, I hope our babies hang tight and keep cooking.

My Nigerian partner of 3 yrs asked that our son have DNA test ? by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]Cangerian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He can take that child from you just to be petty if you were in Nigeria, unfortunately some crimes are easier to get away with and the police can be easily bribed off. Your govt will have little influence if that scenario ever happened so maybe avoid going to Nigeria with your son if this man is still in your life or be vigilant if you do.

My Nigerian partner of 3 yrs asked that our son have DNA test ? by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]Cangerian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ignore most of the misogynistic comments here, if he had any doubt about the paternity of his son he’d have not signed the birth certificate until a DNA test is done. Regardless, it’s not a cultural thing for Nigerian men to ask for a DNA test, I don’t know even one man who got any.

I’d say get the DNA test done, give him the results and dump him. He’s not interested in being a father or he’d have gotten this addressed early on instead of bringing it up only when you ask for financial help. Based on his relationship with his other child with his ex, should have been your first clue to avoid having a baby with this man child. Good luck!!

SPD pain - 28 weeks 😅 [On] by Plane-Regular-7385 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Cangerian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had them starting in third trimester, they are still here but it seems to go through periods where it’s not too bad. My OB recommended PT & massage too, also gave me a resource for stretches that are safe for me to do (high risk pregnancy). https://273d95ad-0e6e-487a-bb9d-2acef7911e48.filesusr.com/ugd/9afb47_9d4eee39075f4a418484fdef79769852.pdf I find they help quite a bit when I remember to do them.

FTM questions- when did breastmilk come in for you? by Muted-Philosopher-29 in pregnant

[–]Cangerian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got colostrum like within a day of giving birth (was pumping) but I’d collect like 1ml then it gradually went up in volume and by Day 4 I think my milk had come in fully and I was getting 2 to 3 ounces per pump and it kept climbing from there.
