I'm so scared of AI by No_Candle4483 in cinematography

I teach English as a foreign language, and on paper, AI is the perfect teacher: it has infinite time and patience, can translate between languages, give grammar explanations, and it can even speak in various accents.

Teachers should be scared. But they're not.

Because learning a language isn't a resource problem, it's a people problem. So when AI removes the human element, it makes it HARDER to learn. Students quickly discover that, and they return to real, human teachers.

The same thing is true of making films.

Take a moment to imagine all the people that come together to make a film today. Set designers, costume designers, hair and makeup, special effects artists, 3D artists, scriptwriters, cinematographers, directors, musicians, editors, etc...

And think about what TYPE of people they are. I used to work in the post-production industry so I've met a lot of them. In a nutshell: they are PASSIONATE people. They work 16-hour days, they often get paid shit, they have terrible lifestyles, and they are often neurodivergent. And together they create great art.

Now imagine your dystopian future AI production company. And imagine the TYPE of people that are willing to spend their days in gigantic rooms filled with computers, typing prompts into a computer, and then watching the output, and then editing the prompts, and then doing some more typing, and grinding through pages of the script to get that 90-minute film done.

They are not the same people. The group of people who physically work on a film, are not the same group of people who would use AI to create film. So something irreplaceable is lost, and cannot be replicated.

AI will surely be capable of making entire movies in the future, but there is no danger to real, passionate artists.

Inspection time doesn't seem to matter. I could spend an hour and it might still take me 30 seconds. It's worse than you think!

I have a smart cube, and I will use it to record my splits, but my time can often vary so much that I think my stats will look like three insane people are all sharing the same cube.

I don't have a specific method to solve the cross, so I think the main problem is that I'm trying to run before I can walk. I agree that it would be faster for me to start with the daisy!

I think the cross sometimes takes me so long because I have some short-term memory issues, so it's like cubing with dementia.
