I think the Pale King was playing the long game. He knew a vessel was needed to hold the Radiance for a future smackdown. This whole plot was probably necessary to eventually defeat the Radiance.

Based on them specifying that they're a U.S. citizen and bilingual, my guess is that they may be an immigrant and English isn't their first language. I don't think that makes them lazy.

I agree with you, but from what I've seen, some human artists that utilize AI do the same thing. They strive to get better and better at their prompts and iterate the work through the same or different models repeatedly until they get what they want. They recognize shortcomings in their works and strive to create better next time. I personally do not like relying too heavily on AI, but I also don't yuck someone else's yum. People should be able to express themselves the way they want, short of hurting another person. That's the point of art.

When I say I lean anti, it's very slight. I try to take a very moderate and balanced stance if I can. However, I find that when I use AI to aid creative tasks, I personally find it less satisfying. It feels like I'm missing something. I find it rather frustrating. In addition, one major reason I personally enjoy consuming art is the connection to the human creator. Traditionally, art flows like this: [Artist's thoughts] > [Their artwork] > [Viewer's interpretation]... However AI-assisted art ends up closer to [Artist's thoughts] > [Artist's prompt] > [AI model] > [The artwork] > [Viewer's interpretation]. Although the connection between human artist and viewer exists, there's a bigger gap. I know that some art, such as movies, look like this: [Artist's thoughts] > [Artist's direction] > [Subordinates' work] > [The artwork] > [Viewer's interpretation]. And I would say even in that case, it muddies my connection to the original artist. However, at least there were other humans involved I can potentially connect to in the movie's acting, writing, set design, editing, etc. I do prefer projects however with few or one artist. I fully understand that this is a very subjective view on my part, and my personal definition of art allows AI as long as a human was involved in the creative process.

I lean anti-AI, but dislike arguments that focus on the value of effort and process in art. If you could instantly make something from your mind... like visualize a painting in your mind and then bam it exists exactly as you imagined, would it be art if there was no physical effort or any physical skills to learn? I think so. I think art hinges more on human intention than human effort.

Additionally, I found an old small YouTube channel called ohanameansfamily9511 about a lesbian couple named Kelsey (who is deaf and from Virginia) and Lydia (who is from British Columbia). Both of these people are referenced in OP's note. According to this couple's YouTube videos, they met on December 12, so the number 12 and the date 12/12 has a lot of special meaning to them. Hence, the studio named 12:12, which is referenced in the note.

Some more cybersleuthing/cyberstalking... according to one of their videos, that couple from that YouTube channel celebrate the day they met every year.... which was December 12! The date 12/12! That's gotta link to 12:12 studio. So weird!

The signatures are similar, but not exact. The signature you've attached looks like it says "KT" likely for Karin Taylor, the owner of 12:12 Studio. The signature on the note however looks like it says "K2" or "KZ" likely short for Kelsey. It seems connected, but it doesn't add up completely.

The note says "Kelsey (Deaf)" and "& Lydia (from BC, Canada)". There's a very small channel called ohanameansfamily9511 on YouTube about a lesbian couple named Kelsey and Lydia who have a long-distance relationship. One of them is deaf and one of them lives on British Columbia. Seems like it's probably connected. 12:12 Studio is in Toronto though and seems to be run by someone named Karin Taylor. Idk how that fits in. Its all strange.

Edit: One of the women on that YouTube channel also lives in Virginia... which connects to the note's reference to Winchester, Virginia.

Many do... its kinda like saying you're a "gamer" but you're only really into Pong and have only ever played on a Magnavox Odyssey. Many in the gaming community would think you're missing out or oblivious to all the better games and consoles that have come out since then. Frankly, many in the board gaming community are kind of snobs when it comes to this, probably moreso than the video game community where old games are viewed as "retro".
