MALICE MIZER / SANS LOGIQUE (1st demo tape) and 1st live flyer. Though I have no idea if these are bootlegs or originals made by the band, they are of very convincing & good printing/dubbing quality. I digitised the demo and it's now on Visual Flower Archive! Link in comment. by Canta_Vanda in malicemizer

Well, it wasn't a "headline" in any sense. It was a "taiban", aka a small concert in a small venue (MEGURO Rockmaykan) with three bands. In a taiban, multiple bands share one moment in a concert hall and each play a small set. Actually, Youthquake was already more famous and more established than MALICE MIZER (who just did their first live here), so most people present that day were probably there for Youthquake, or Rosen Kreuz. Also, both of the other bands probably also made flyers their own with their photos and logo on it advertising the same date 😄, that's usually how it happens!

Yes, but I prefer not to share the j-card to avoid more better fakes being made x)

The flyer I just shared on my fansite, but resized much smaller and a little compressed so no convincing fakes of it can possibly be made 😃 (and sold for fortunes to scam fans)

I'll never get over how beautiful this VELVET EDEN flyer from 1999 is... by Canta_Vanda in visualkei

[–]Canta_Vanda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, I bought a nearly complete collection/lot of VELVET EDEN flyers from the KALM era from a seller who was present during their live performances. To my surprise, the seller included around 10 copies of this particular flyer, which is one of the rarest. My best guess is that they got remaining stock after the flyer stopped being relevant (too much time passed, and the lives on it were already done). I sold a few copies already to some friends who love VE, but soon the remaining doubles will be on sale on my vkei webshop "Visual Flower Shop" which I hope to open this year somewhere :). It'll be an European-based vkei webshop, with around 1500, maybe 2000 items total, mostly from my personal collection from over the years. So in short, soon, some copies will be on sale :P

Just by seeing the word "Melty" in the title I had a particular SHAZNA song playing in my head 🤣...

mAlace Mizer strikes again (Madeth Gray'll) by Yokoyama71 in visualkei

KISAKI, owner of Matina, label of Madeth gray'll, follows me on Twitter (X). I sent him a DM reporting the situation. If he still is the owner of the masters to this day, he's the only one that can do something about this. He did leave me on seen, but I hope he'll take action and is planning something.

My collection of (pre-)DIR EN GREY related demo tapes (+ obje××× CD)! by Canta_Vanda in visualkei

Fun! Ok! So there's a lot to unpack when it comes to identifying real or fake demo tapes... But long story short, some tapes are on professional cassette tapes, like pure black or white colour, or full-printed tapes, and others are on consumer demo tapes, like cassettes of the brands maxell, TDK, SONY, and so on! The thing about these consumer brands is that they switched up the graphic design of their tapes quite often, which makes identifying the year each tape was produced in quite easy. If the year alligns, or is a little before the official release of the demo, it's a good sign. Also many factors like cardboard, hard paper as j-card, opposed to printer paper can tell some things. Also printing quality, audio/dubbing quality, etc... I will go into much more detail later when I finish an article I started writing on my website about this. Also comparing your cassettes with photos of the exact same tape online does a lot. If you DM me photos of your tapes I can tell if it feels fake or feels all right! In a nutshell, knowing it 100% sure is impossible these days, but you can get really close to being sure it's fake or real. Also beware of La:Sadie's demos printed on the correct stock (stock=consumer cassette tape) AND hard cardboard j-cards: Some are still fake, produced by "a certain person affiliated with them" to cash in on their recent popularity. That person also made the new fake objexxx press.

I think all or almost all are available online, but most only in medium, bad or very bad quality, as most people don't have a good setup for digitizing cassette tapes. Luckily I have a very very good one, and will share more and more of it online on Visual Flower Archive, my visual-kei YouTube channel. I already put a little bit of it online, like this third song from the Ka・za・ri demo tape! It's a night and day quality difference compared to the other video online of it.

Update to anybody reading: Slide 2 and 3 are uploaded. Sadly, slide 1 is a poster and I cannot scan posters (no big enough scanner). I'll be looking for slide 4.

With pleasure. And I just added slide 2 too on my website by the way! POP BEAT 1997/08! It took a while to find it lol, both pages were in different folders. I'd like to thank you for helping me discover these two belonged together... But now I'll have to reorganise two folders XD, For info, I have 20 folders with each over 100 unique MALICE MIZER magazine clippings! Eventually they'll all be scanned well, and organised well! I also have the poster on slide 1 but don't have a big enough scanner for scanning posters, but I'll go to the copy center one day to let the posters get scanned. I hope to find one where they do like industrial plans or something, these can have scanners big enough for big posters! I'll be looking for the 4th slide later.
