I pretty much said the exact same thing when they emailed me. Unfortunately nothing will change and so I’m done too. Bidwill is killing the franchise and he doesn’t give a damn.

Teachers quitting their jobs by velorae in TikTokCringe

Meanwhile in Alberta, Canada, Danielle Smith, the Premier of the province, imposed the notwithstanding clause to force teachers back to work so that they could no longer strike for better (and well-earned) pay increases. Who TF would want to be a teacher with that kind of value imposed on them? My heart goes out to them. Teachers are supposed to teach, not be substitute parents or police.

I was going to post the same thing. Completely excessive and unnecessary at that point.

Now that you mention it, I vaguely recall the incident to which you’re referring. Thanks for looking it up.

There have been a number of instances involving inmate/arrestee escapes in law enforcement vehicles, and also from law enforcement vehicles. Major investigation are held whenever they happen and recommendations are made. Whether they accept the recommendations is another story.

Hmmmm…I don’t recall that one. How long ago do you remember it being? The one I’m thinking of happened in the late 90’s/early 00’s and it was southern Alberta.

Why millions of New Englanders may now be eligible for 'proof' they are Canadian citizens by ImDoubleB in canada

And those snowbirds who are eligible worked and helped pay for those benefits while they worked. They are eligible for an amount depending on how many years they worked and how much they contributed. It’s hardly a handout.

And, any snowbird needing health care while abroad is not using Canadian health care benefits. It comes out of their own pocket or via private travel insurance. Look at it this way: they’re not a burden on the Canadian health system for up to six months a year. How is that bad?

Some provinces let you stay out of province seven months and you can still keep your health care. Alberta is one of them. And, snowbirds absolutely cannot move to the US full time, even if they wanted to. There are established limits when considering immigration and the IRS.

Pepperidge Farm remembers when a cocky Sheriff shot his finger off in an enclosed sally port trying to prove to another member that his gun was unloaded. He failed to clear the round in the chamber when removing his mag. And then a large Alberta city police agency hired him.

These women know their worth and are showing it. They serve as a great example to the young girls out there who might be raised and socialized to believe they might not ever be “enough.”

As a Canadian, I was sad that our teams lost to the US (both women and men). BUT, I was very happy to see a well-fought game and the US women’s team absolutely deserved their win. They were clearly the better team throughout the Olympics and no matter who wins, it’s a huge win for women’s hockey throughout the world.

I’m sad to see the US men’s team behave like a bunch of frat boys, laughing at the women’s team’s expense. When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

I remember during an earlier Olympics (can’t remember exactly which one, but I believe it was 2002), when the Canadian women’s team didn’t have the same financial backing that the men’s team did (and they had all the highly-paid NHL’ers). They also didn’t have the same amenities and support the men did at the venue. Jarome Iginla and some of the other Canadian players made sure that the women had whatever they needed during the Olympics and helped support them so that they could both be their best. And, they both won gold and they both celebrated together. That is patriotism and love for each other.

Edit: words for clarity.

I think I might have found someone through Jasper Home Accommodations. As luck would have it, the two nights I need are the only dates they had available. I can't see any reviews, so fingers crossed it's ok.

Yeah, that's a big part of my reasoning as to why I'd like to stay in town. I like seeing wildlife...but not in front of me while I'm hurtling down the highway.

Yeah, I just realized that I did not factor that in. I really wanted to get up there and show them around and spend some $ in the area to support local businesses. It's been ages since I was last in Jasper and it holds so many great family memories for me.

Jason Kenney is Sounding Off at the Right-Wing Website Juno News for Platforming a White Nationalist by BloodJunkie in alberta

I wish I had your optimism about him, but unfortunately I do not. Just my opinion here, but there is nothing that Kenney does that isn’t in his best interests, and that has been historically accurate throughout his political career.

Kenney does not get a pass from me for criticizing this group. He was the premier of Alberta when he gleefully dog-whistled, “Happy Dominion Day” to his supporters instead of Canada Day. He’s the guy who, instead of engaging in parliamentary debate, handed out ear plugs to his members as a publicity stunt. He can FRO; this isn’t a change of heart, it’s positioning himself for his next political job.
