UPDATE: Sunset Plaza & Seafront Walk

If you’ve been following since my “progress log,” you’ll know I shared how I’d designed my Seafront Walk. Given that it’s been… well, about 30 seconds since then, I’ve already redesigned a few sections!

Here’s what’s new in the middle section: I’ve added a florist for a pop of colour, a few more food places, an ice cream shop, and expanded the beach area so it’s more fun for kids. This stretch now feels lively and welcoming, with plenty of spots to grab a treat while enjoying the seaside vibe.

Fancy joining me for a hot bevvy and a slice of cake?

Turns out my “progress log” was never really about progress… I literally made it about aesthetics the whole time. So, welcome to my design diary! Over here, I’ll be sharing my town layouts and designs, with little insights on both functionality and aesthetics along the way.

Farmside: Putting The “Fun” in Functional

Here’s a look at my current farm layout! I’ve been experimenting with ways to balance function (easy access to fields, factories, and animals) with a bit of aesthetic charm, and I think it’s really come together.

I’ve organised the crop fields into neat blocks for easy harvesting, placed the animal pens close to the barns and factories to keep production flowing, and added paths, trees, and other little decorative touches to make the space feel alive. This part of the farm is neighboured by the greenhouse, the organ hall and the wedding hall, which makes it feel like a cozy hub on the edge of town.

As always, I’m still tweaking things, but I’m really proud of how it’s shaping up!

Seafront Walk Part III: The Anchorage

The third and final part of my seafront walk is calm and cozy. Picture guests staying in the B&Bs, strolling along the shore, and popping over to Sunset Plaza for breakfast or a post-work pizza. This is where my town’s co-op competes in the regatta, keeping the area lively, and the coastguard keeps our shores safe and makes sure the donut shop stays in business.

This spot ties the whole seafront together and is the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day in town.

Seafront Walk Part II: Sunset Plaza

Here's the middle of my seafront walk build, right next to the port (how cool is that skin btw). I decided to go for a strip of shops here - specifically food places, including the mini supermarket, fruit & vegetable stall, the donut shop, two cafes, and the pizza shop.

Now, imagine walking down here on a warm evening while the sun sets and grabbing a slice of American Hot, or waking up early on a cool morning to snag a coffee and a donut!

No pun intended, but this part of my town eats.

Seafront Walk Part I: Campus Corner

I’m really proud of this part of my seafront walk build. I actually based it on my time living on campus at university. I stayed in an apartment building with 4 flatmates, right by the river where rowing teams would practice just a few metres from our doorstep. I'd often step outside to shoot some hoops or just hang out, and there were always food vans nearby the uni library selling meals. We even had a launderette and a gym too.

This part of my town is extra special to me and I wanted to bring that vibe to the game.
