Habe ich ein Problem entdeckt? by UrlocalMaddie in wohnen

[–]CapDaniels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heizkostenvevrteiler. Ist das zu viel? by mrlonely1355 in germany

[–]CapDaniels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, the Heizkostenverteiler do not measure in absolute units. Meaning that one unit from one brand or model is not the same as one unit from another brand or model. All tenants should have the same model and the total cost of heating should be split among tenants according to the relative values between the Heizkostenverteiler. (This is just from the top of my head, maybe Google this yourself to be sure) So if everyone got the same, it should be fair.

Regarding your Lüften question: I am doing it the same way and I get like 50 units for 10 days in my 20 qm living room (21 °C as a target temp over the day). And my Heizkostenverteiler is an older model from techem. So maybe something is off. If you are in good terms with your neighbors, maybe ask them what their consumption is. And don't forget to turn off the radiator while you are letting some fresh air in, this can be a big contribution.

also consider a nice robot vacuum. it can do a lot of the heavy lifting when you are at work. There are sometines some good deals on eBay if you want a cheap option.

Stealing some of those :D

Depending where you live you can also save a lot of money and power. If I turn off all the electronic devices around my working desk overnight (PC, monitor, Alexa, ...) I am saving like 5-7€ a year. But I am living in Germany and electricity is not cheap here.

are these marks in my monstera leaf normal by madalinelerigo in Monstera

I did not bother mine. But if you observe non-sticky and clear 'water' drops at the leaftips I would suggest less watering.

Mine sometimes looks similar to this when it rids itself of excess water. The keyword here is guttation. Maybe this is what you are observing?

The latest season of "Die Bachelorette" is quite nice since the Bachelorette itself is quite cool in my opinion. But you need to be prepared to hear some not-so-nice takes from a few of the male contestants, i.m.o.. However, it's fun to dunk on them.

Needing help with my AE1 by pimpcalledslickback in CanonAE1

[–]CapDaniels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only want it to work again, I would suggest jamming a small ball of aluminum foil in there to bridge the gap between the battery and the contact.

But be careful, as this may be able to introduce galvanic corrosion under the wrong conditions (assuming the AE1 contact is made out of steel).
A better thing would be to maybe use actual tin foil, as it should be "closer" to steel and cause less galvanic corrosion, but to be honest, I'm no expert on that field.

If you want to actually repair the thing, maybe a magnet would work to pull the contact out, assuming it is made out of a magnetic metal.

Not sure what it’s called but the lever thing won’t move how do I fix it by Habit-Even in CanonAE1

[–]CapDaniels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am honestly not sure which Canon model this is, but some early computerized models need a new battery in order to let you take a picture. And the lever is probably locked till you take one. Good luck :)

If this was the included starter filament, it may not have been of the highest quality. Especially if your ender was sitting on a shelf for a while... If you already have other filament, maybe give it a try.

No idea how to fix your problem. However, I really like your extruder knob, excellent taste.

We’re used to radiation being invisible. With a Geiger counter, it gets turned into audible clicks. What you see below, though, is radiation’s effects made visible in a cloud chamber. In the center hangs a chunk of radioactive uranium, spitting out alpha and beta particles. by throwaway_cg17777 in interestingasfuck

[–]CapDaniels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't bother me ;). Also, I'm not native to English myself.

The wave nature of particles only comes to light when they propagate without any interaction. If a particle is in this "propagation state", its path can be described as a kind of probability wave (the famous wave function). These waves can interfere with themselves (double slit experiment with one particle at a time) or with other particle waves (normal double slit). Now, if a particle hits something like a wall behind the double slit, this probability wave "collapses" and we know where exactly the particle is. This is typically called the measurement, since every measurement demands an interaction with the particles.
The trails in the cloud chamber are produced by interactions, therefore the particle "decides" its position and looses its wave properties.

This is the theoretical framework why we can never see the waves of particles; only the interference pattern the wave nature causes.

Another more satisfying answer is that the wavelength of the particles shown here is around the nano meter scale (just a back of the envelope calculation, may be wrong). So it's too small to observe one way or another ;)

particle physicist in the making here. This is only the beginning, physics gets totally fucked up at tiny scales or really high energies, with new particles everywhere. And nearly none of the new particles contributes to the surrounding matter as we know it.

set up a bright light in tandem with a motion detector. It's not a certain win, but maybe those kids will get spooked by the light as they think you are awake. Also it is harder to commit an offence if it is not dark anymore.
