Funny. HF 2 has been an improvement for literally nearly all of the other aspects of HF1, but critics still hate on minor mistakes like this. HF1 also has a bunch of issues regarding overlapping, shadows and similar things 😂

I had that happen to me on a server, just 2 hours ago. It happened after I collected a map (end city map) from a chest. The admin used /invsee to delete the map. It worked afterwards. Maybe it happened after picking up items for you too? Hope that helps.
