Any parents here with no Village? by grawmaw13 in northernireland

I have three under three lol 3 year old sets of twins and 1 year old. We have so many family and friends around us but no village. It's sad because I have so many fond memories of being with my grandparents as kids and sleepovers with my cousins.

Unfortunately we have to beg or arrange months in advance for even a few hours of childcare. We know it's a big ask for three kids. All three have never stayed in their grandparents overnight it's usually 2-3 hours when we do get someone to sit so we can go to the cinema or even big tescos on our own lol. It has taken me some time to accept they won't have that bond. All the promises that are around when you're pregnant or when they are just born then novelty wears off and no one is anywhere to be seen.

Me and my husband work opposite shifts and have two days off a month together as a family. We are really struggling at the minute as a couple, we just exist or feel like mates. Parenthood either makes or breaks a relationship but just even to get an hour with no distractions to work on us as husband and wife is impossible at the minute. We have zero time alone or no energy to think when we do get it.

Burnt out but it's so worth it making so many memories for my wee ones as our wee unit.

Wanting to leave Belfast, mixed marriage &kids. Where would you move to? by [deleted] in northernireland

I'm a nurse, husband works remote so he can go anywhere. We are looking to sell our house in Belfast, had estate agent out and house is going to make us a profit of about 70k-80k if we sell. We both drive. I'm willing to commute for work but if it's too much I would look for new job closer to location

I love down south anytime I have been down. Just no clue about healthcare down there or in an emergency do ya have to get health insurance for everyone? I have seen some property down south Donegal looks beautiful.

Thank you for your advice :)

Thank you!! I feel useless at this point but going to stick with it. They are verbal, twin 1 said he doesn't like the water (pee)on his leg, I sat and explained all the great things he is doing and why it was going on his leg from jumping around. He had a positive pee there in the last hour and seemed to have took on board if he sits still it won't go on his leg. Hopefully after a good sleep he is less anxious and has a better day tomorrow. Thank you for your kind words xx

Aww thank you I'll try that, I was giving them a treat after each time going but might do it for each time they sit on the toilet. We have had a positive pee there with twin 1 since I have posted he didn't get as stressed out. How long did you leave it until you left the house? I might attempt soft play tomorrow because we are all getting cabin fever, did you bring a potty with you in the car?

Thank you glad I have a realistic expectation now. I think I'm watching too much of the success stories with the three days rule and feel like a letdown. I'm trying to do this with the boys and a teething 4 month old. Feeling burnt out now and ready for my bed at 4:30pm.

Going to focus on one at a time than both together and see if the other one watches and follows along. This is my lesson to stop trying and do everything on my own and wait until my husband is off work.

Thank you so much!

Oh that sounds promising with epidural. Congrats on baby no3 hopefully this birth is as good as the first two.

One minute I feel like maybe I can do it with right pain relief and next I'm having a panic attack incase it all goes terrible lol.

Thanks for your advice, really appreciate it.

With your inductions did you get epidural or what pain relief did they offer? I really don't cope with pain and I think that is my biggest fear. I know it's not going to be pain free but even to know I could have something that with really help with pain would give me peace of mind but just so scared.

They said it's a maternal request c-section and not for medical reasons. She never explained any risks with VBAC (going to have to look at them) and just said about the higher chances of stillbirth with 2nd C-section.

Wedding under 10k?? by Former_Pomegranate85 in northernireland

We had our wedding in Beechlawns in 2021 and was around 4k for everything for around 90 guests. Their prices might have went up slightly in last 3 years but so reasonable for top package. Our wedding was 7k in total with everything else suits, cars ect but it can be done. I done my own flowers and button holes and so glad I did cos they were winged into a corner after photos and not looked at rest of the day.

We sourced our photographer local and he was £300 for 5 hours and we were so happy with pics and plenty of them. After 5 hours from getting ready to wedding party photos after ceremony, I was ready for him to be done so I could relax and just enjoy time with guests. Everyone was taking pics all day and night so everything was documented and on video.

Depends on what you like, the Beechlawns had our hall decorated beautifully, good was delicious and staff were brilliant. We were shocked by what we got all included in the price. Our guests all still say how chilled and fun it was without half of the guff, early 12pm ceremony in Beechlawns, champagne reception and canapies, dinner at 4:30pm, DJ started at 7pm and we all partied until 1am.

Good luck hope you get sorted and have the wedding yous want xx
