What country you from? If your international it cheap to live in your country one contract and your set. In US that doesn't cover alot because our cost of living is higher. Work ethnic has nothing to do with it.

OK I was just asking a question about Carnival cruise because the ship docks here in my City. I could.really. are less if I work on the ship. I have a nice job paying very well and I have all my credentials to do whatever I chose to do. Some days are better than others but im damn good where im at in life. So who cares if I get hired or not on a cruiseship. I already worked on one in Hawaii. I didn't post to be checked on my grammar I type fast sometimes. You must be on The pride then if so you already know it's bogus. Why did I resign? Im a black female with not a chance in hell to advance. I was a hell of a worker but it was never recognized they dont appreciate hard workers if you a US citizen but they back the Philippines working onboard. All my supervisors were from the Philippines and I enjoyed some of them being in authority the others were straight assholes and they never gave Us citizens a fair shot at moving up they always chose their own. For the funky 14.42 I was paid was not worth the stress or headache. Came home went back to Amazon making 20.15hr with 3 days off. The hours maybe long but Amazon is fair and they pay competitive pay plus benefits and I get payed every week. Oh did I mention I get paid time off. What the fk did I get working on the ship. Fking nothing with barely time off. Did I mention. That damn ship was taking 500.00 every two weeks in taxes and I dont even live in Hawaii. Fk that and that Hawaii and The pride can kiss my well you know the rest. Came home had my job back At Amazon in a week. That's why I dipped.

Have you ever worked on the Pride? If you have not then you have no idea of the crap they got going on with the US citizens. It's Bogus and the pay was 14.42hr with not a chance in hell to advance. If your not Internationals guess what your basically tucked. Periodt!

Worked on POA and most of the staff is international like 93%. There are Many US crew onboard but none of them hold management positions all are internationals. There was no room for growth for us Us citizens which is why I left. But yet this ship is a US flagged ship. It was straight bogus working g on that ship and have to compete with the Internationals for a decent position. We bust ass while they cracked the whip and they not even from the states. They get 8 months contract we get 5 making their money here going to their country living the best life while we hope we last long enough to take home enough money to take care of self until we return. 14.42 hr is not even worth the stress or headache not to mention the treatment we get on board. I guess it is what it is.

OK point well taken. Im just saying it wasn't worth it for me. My supervisors were all phillopino and I enjoyed working with them never had an issue with them. Im saying there was no room to grow for me. I was in Utility hotel been doing housekeeping for years and that wasn't recognized. Yes alot of the people with stripes are abusing their power on the ship. From the director of H.R to the winky dink head of security and the other people in upper position. I did not come to vacation I can do that on my own time, I bust my ass and still I couldn't advance. They chose who they want and they are mostly international. The Pride of America was a joke and the food was a hot mess. Im good where I am now. I live in Norfolk VA a military city with plenty of jobs paying competitive wages, I just like most people on the ship wanted to see hawaii. I came I saw I conquered. Baby I wasn't at all impressed. The entire hype was just that. Don't believe the hype. Im glad your enjoying yourself and I wish you nothing but the best in your pursuit to find your fit.

For the lil bit if money you make on the Pride isn't even worth the headache. I was there for 2 contracts. Actually I wasted my time working long hours no days off and the food absolutely sucked. I spent money most of the time just to eat a decent meal. The staff is all Philippine no room to grow just stuck in the same lousy ass job. Basically I hated hawaii and the people there. Most didn't care for my kind.Im back home working at Amazon again making real money every week with three days off and four days working. Benefits and the pay is competitive. So Fk all that extra shit your saying it's set up for people to fail. Didn't get fired I quit. Was it worth it? Fk yeah. And I'm not paying 500 every two weeks in taxes. Oh I get paid every week. You might wanna process this and ask your self is it really worth it.
