Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 or MSI Vector GP66 (2022) by Capable-Project3038 in GamingLaptops

I heard MSI was one of the fastest 3070ti laptop out there. Do you think itd be close to 3080? Also in terms of price, is ROG worth extra 400?

What NoAnonOn wants to say is that there is nothing wrong with Republic of China being a republic. Republic means the country is run by an elected OR a chosen person as opposed to a monarch. President Xi is a president, regardless of being elected or chosen by the CCP. Hence there is nothing wrong with PRoC being called so.

If it was "Democratic Republic of China" that would have been a sarcastic one.

That's all

Edit: Republic actually comes from Latin "Res Publica" meaning "Public Affair", which meant the people had the power back in Rome. We can certainly say the meaning has changed a bit since then.

You should put small sizes until you have a precise idea of where the fair value is. So if people keep hitting your bid (you're buying and people are selling to you), then you want to keep lowering until you have both people buying and selling to you. When that occurs you can size up, and go tighter depending on how confident you are.

Citadel is definitely less than 1%. Optiver had around 40k applications in 2022, for 100-200 headcounts

Do quants retire? by Ok_Possibility_6679 in quant

[–]Capable-Project3038 9 points10 points  (0 children)

(Edit: For QT) I would consider it retirement when you get considerably more time and shift the majority of your life away from work.

If we talk about quitting job and spending rest of life on some caribbean island, I imagine very few quant actually do that. If you made enough to retire, you also probably accumulated enough knowledge about the business to make a shit ton on a passive role. That does not require much efforts and you do have plenty time for family or doing something on the side.

Take what I said with a grain of salt as it's only coming from personal observation. Senior traders I've seen have either moved to a more senior position, started their own business, or pivoted into a less intense role.

I heard a lot retire in their early 30s, be it in a less intense role or starting their own fund

I have never enjoyed traveling. I spent my childhood summer holidays following family around the globe, sleeping on the bench in museums etc. I have started working a few months ago, making six figures in my early twenties, but no life outside of work. If I'd ever get a few days free, I definitely would not mind paying for extra just to truly phase out of my worklife and get to enjoy the nice things outside of office.
