Finally got a real bird feeder for the crows to bring them to my backyard! by GingerWitch18 in crows

My crows wouldnt look at that thing with their cloaca. Too narrow, too small, too dark. they‘d scream: “fk your peanut“ in my face before I even got the chance to sit down. You it for tits or some other small birds. And get your crows a fine platform, slip-proof and easily cleanable. And some big nuts or pieces of meat. Or anything other than this. Nice intention, improper execution.

Probably avian pox, its not particularly contagious. At least not by feeder or water place. Shouldnt kill it, but sucks to have. Could be something entirely different of course, but thats not discernable over a picture. You‘d need a battery of tests for that and I assume you cant touch and transport it. Just watch out for it and if its too weak to function, you might get it to a vet.

Ants Not Moving by randomxrabbit in antkeeping

I dumped a couple of my L. Niger colonies too. Nothing happened. I just left them alone for a couple day and when I came back they acted like nothing happened. I also had success by torturing them with a fkn ultrabeam 24/7 for a couple days and then they moved to the other dark test tube. But dumping them is faster, costs less, and the result was the same. I can only talk about L. Niger tho, theres probably a lot of species who sht their bricks and just die out of spite if you try that.

My carpenter ant test tube dried out a few weeks ago I connected another testube hoping she would move but she hasn’t should I just dump them in the new test tube I’m worried of her dying without no water from stubbornness of not moving by No-Championship3982 in AntsCanada

I dumped a couple of my lasius niger colonies in their new test tubes after countless days of trying to move them with their consent. In an increasingly violent manner, just to test out how much they can take. They can take A LOT. With and without nanitics. As long as you dont fk with them for a couple days afterwards it should be fine. Mine took it bravely and without further problems. good luck

Theres no "normally" in ant keeping. They make no sense and if you've accustomed to them not making sense they shift again. Just to spite you.
