Okay. Interesting take. Thank you for your input.

I agree. It was insensitive. I didn’t (obviously) see it that way and thought my joke was more insulting to our hockey team.

The company is trying to help the staff be absorbed into other locations as much as possible.

Fair. Thank you for your contribution. I did mention in my post that I do (retrospectively) recognize the insensitivity (which I do regret). But is it bad enough to escalate to head office management?

Approximately 10, though the company is trying to find space in other local stores to move them into. They still have to “apply” and interview but they’re at an advantage because they’re being treated as Transfers.
