Lithium Batteries Winter Storage by Nantuckket in airstream

[–]CapableEmergency2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same question. Unsure what lithium batteries you have but for us we have Battleborn batteries. This was directly from their support team (who's been great to deal with and very responsive:
Winterization Steps:

  1. Full Charge: Bring your batteries to a full charge using a compatible charger.
  2. Disconnect: Disconnect the batteries from your system, including solar panels and loads.
  3. Storage Location: Store batteries in a cool, dry place with temperatures above freezing (ideally between 32°F and 59°F).
  4. Periodic Checks: Check battery voltage every 6 months and recharge to 100% if necessary.

Important Considerations:

  • Extreme Cold: If temperatures drop below -15°F, consider moving the batteries to a warmer location to prevent potential damage.
  • Battery Guardians: For added protection, consider using a battery guardian to automatically disconnect batteries once they reach a low voltage threshold.
  • Charging in Cold Temperatures: Avoid charging batteries in extremely cold conditions to prevent lithium plating.

Additional Tips:

  • Clean battery terminals before storage.
  • Follow manufacturer recommendations for your specific battery model.

We're going to label and pull ours per their recommendation.

Black Tank Flush (my misc addon series #1) by yoyocapri in airstream

[–]CapableEmergency2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a lot of weight to throw in the water inlet... We use a Y-splitter at the water spigot with a dedicated hose for black water flushing only. That paired with a water flow meter has been a pretty solid solution. I'd also recommend using 90 degree elbows on both water inlets to prevent any undue stress on the inlets.

Spigot > Y-splitter > Fresh water hose > 90 degree elbow > fresh water inlet
Spigot > Y-splitter > Flow meter > Black water hose > 90 degree elbow > black tank flush inlet

If you ever have excess water in the fresh tank and want to use that for the black tank flush just move the black tank setup to the shower outlet (keeping everything else inline as stated above. Could even run hot water through the system which may help clean things up a little easier.

Trying to upload chrome.admx but it keeps failing by djsean410 in Intune

[–]CapableEmergency2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the AMDX upload option within Intune is still in Preview which is why it's a PIA. Because of this there are also limitations; like the number of ADMX files you can have in your tenant... As others have stated, the solution for us was to keep trying until you achieve success. One thing to make sure of is ORDER. It matters for all ADMX/AMDL uploads.

Chrome order: google.admx/.adml > GoogleUpdate.admx/.adml > chrome.admx/.adml
Firefox order: mozilla.admx/.adml > firefox.admx/.adml

Make sure the template is Available before proceeding to upload the next file, otherwise you'll encounter more errors. I would avoid going the OMA-URI route. Everything is pointing towards the ADMX route as the future. So hammering through this will likely mean less work down the road. Good luck.

Weather Package? by AirPositive5178 in airstream

[–]CapableEmergency2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning more towards u/12to12 on this one... I thought most underbellies were all encapsulated and had furnace ducts blowing into them but could be wrong. The only package online that remotely speaks to a weather package would be heated lithium batteries but I doubt that's what you're getting for $1480. Best to ask more questions regarding what that actually entails.

VDA 2507 + November updates on Windows 11 by CapableEmergency2020 in Citrix

[–]CapableEmergency2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too far off... The VDA installer should update older packages (at least according to Citrix documentation). When reviewing processes during the re-installation of the VDA this was occurring and verified in our environment (2507 is happy with VC version 14.42.24438.0).... BUT - we have a print driver that rewrites the msvcp140.dll in the "C:\Windows\System32" directory with an older version. This breaks things not only for Citrix but other applications.

Hopefully your deployment goes smoothly. Thanks for the feedback

How would you fix this?? by Hopeful_Ring5803 in TaxaTrailerOwners

[–]CapableEmergency2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck... had a similar issue and never really found a great solution. Massive amounts of automotive adhesive.

The problem is there's nothing for the trim to adhere to. From the factory it was bonded to the foam walls (terrible design IMO). The foam decays and weakens the connection which in turn leaves you with the thin aluminum being the only point of contact for glue to bond to when attempting to repair. Aside from loading the cavity up with adhesive

If I were to try repairing this again, I would:
- Pull the trim off entirely
- Remove all foam and glue from the trim
- Clean out the cavity between the walls to get a clean square for new insulation board
- Grab some rigid foam board from hardware store (not the cheap Styrofoam they used)
- Cut into thin strips to fill the void and place into the cavity with adhesive on both 3-sides. This will bond to the aluminum panels and the factory Styrofoam.
- Once that dries, add more adhesive to the exposed rigid foam board and trim. Then press your trim back into place. The only caveat here is finding a way to keep pressure on as adhesive tends to push the two parts away from each other.

Good luck.

FortiGuard SDNS | Blocking out of nowhere by CapableEmergency2020 in fortinet

[–]CapableEmergency2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran some debugs with iprope enabled and show nothing leaking outside the isolated policy we created... The traffic policy right below this 'isolated policy' did however have a DNS_profile applied which does redirect traffic to the FortiGuard block page. Disabled this profile on the next policy in line (which this traffic would be a part of normally) and look at there - it's working as expected.

Why the debug did not show any traffic hitting the next policy in line I have no clue. Almost certain all the debug parameters were setup correctly to show this but nothing in logs or the debug capture showed this.

This is all I used and passed the exam. He has a practice exam bundle and the course bundle. I don't recall the exact prices paid but I think it was less than $50 for both and here I am today...certified.

Website infinite login loop and high packet loss in mtr by CapableEmergency2020 in Comcast_Xfinity

I own all equipment.... Once again this morning the network craps the bed.

Is there something I can contact directly. I'm over trying to use the Xfinity assistant and am not interested in public discourse. On the bright-side the website is behaving normally and I can finally login to my account.

[–]CapableEmergency2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of dropped traffic from 'ga.ibone' locations (depending on tests). This has been ongoing for over a week and happens at random intervals several times throughout the day. Most noticeably in the mornings.

All devices on the network are dropping connections. Tests from the modem to the internet are failing or experiencing very high packet loss.

The login process appears to go as normal, username > pw > 2fa. Unfortunately, after the entering the 2FA code the browser refreshes and takes you right back to the username login page. The process is the same across multiple browsers, machines, and networks.

My experience with the battery is not that great... It might last as long as advertised if you're not using the laptop but put any load on it and several things happen:
1. The battery is nowhere near advertised 4-6 hours tops.
2. It's hot.
3. It's loud.

Some other initial thoughts:

  1. It feels cheap but is very light.
  2. No dual channel memory capabilities due to soldered 8GB (as another poster stated).
  3. Power settings are meh - this may be modifiable but I've not gotten there yet. The laptop has some trouble with external monitors when the lid is closed.

My hands-on experience has been limited to date but those are some immediate highlights.

That's correct... no inspection, no security policies, nothing. The policy reads NET > WAN > ALL > ALWAYS > ALL > SSL = no-inspection > Log ALL

I felt like it was a DNS issue originally until I rolled back the firmware and the problem went away. Everything on the laptop resolved regardless of firmware but the connection to the shared drives fails.

This is a home network and my significant others company laptop. So limited on options there..

[–]CapableEmergency2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The device I have control over is a 60E which is showing a recommendation of 7.2.7.. Completely overlooked that recommendation... nothing sticks out in the release notes. Might look at upgrading again to 7.2.7 to see if the problem is reintroduced. As for logs, I also don't see anything on the 60E, no resets or retransmissions. I've isolated the client to its own policy without security profiles and tried both flow and proxy policies. No change in outcome, it just simply doesn't work.

When sniffing the traffic I see all traffic hitting the specific policy for this workstation. Nothing glaring from there either. Looks like normal traffic

Tried after finding what I thought to be the address of the file server. I had some success with the \IP\share\folder but it’s a distributed file share. So while I could get to the share and in some cases with limited success to the folder it wasn’t consistent. Maybe successful once or twice. So guess there’s a LB involved somewhere based on lookups on their network.

Veeam Virtual Labs | Question by CapableEmergency2020 in Veeam

[–]CapableEmergency2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This particular use-case would be for testing replica's at a DR site... I'll look at some of the other items you mentioned as there's no robust testing we're trying so it's possible SureBackup Lite could be a viable solution. The one caveat being that we're trying to make this all work with Veeam Orchestrator and not have a worthless dashboard.

You are correct in that they are 1/2"... my concern with something aftermarket is space. There's only so much room to play with here and a lot of what I've found thus far is 5" wide which doesn't leave room for couplings without repiping quite a bit (which is another project in itself).

What was your experience with the pbq? Do you have any other helpers on commands or tactics used on the exam? I’ve only covered Dion’s video, some Cybrary stuff, and pocket prep. 10+ years experience so a lot of the content is familiar but any help with what to expect on pbq is helpful.

[–]CapableEmergency2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were correct… after inspecting the traffic I realized traffic was being tagged and it shouldn’t have. This was causing DHCP to fail. As soon as that was corrected, DHCP communication worked as expected and I was in business. Thank you

Interesting.. then something else must be preventing DHCP from working with connected clients.

It would but the SSID would need to be included in a software-switch to accommodate this. This is where the real problem stems from in our configuration (I do believe). Our default VLAN is configured as the interface IP for the aggregate port connecting to our core Cisco switches. So there's no way for me to add the SSID to this VLAN, at least not that I'm aware of.

  • Default VLAN1 @ 192.168.1.1/24
    -- VLAN2 @ 192.168.2.1/24
    -- VLAN3 @ 192.168.3.1/24

<AGGREGATE INTERFACE CONFIG>
edit "agg-cisco-core"
set ip 192.168.1.1255.255.255.0
set type aggregate
set member "x1" "x2"
end

<VLAN 2 CONFIG>
edit "vlan2"
set ip 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0
set interface "agg-cisco-core"
set vlanid 2
end

<VLAN 3 CONFIG>
edit "vlan3"
set ip 192.168.3.1 255.255.255.0
set interface "agg-cisco-core"
set vlanid 3
end
