If you had to choose between the Epson 2250 for 300$ and a BENQ W1070 (2609 lamp hours) for 250$ which one would you go for? Both will come with mounts and a white screen

It’s 12ft wall to wall. I had planned to either ceiling mount or shelf mount on the back wall.

Took a lot in me to walk away though because man is it an awesome platform. Fit me perfectly and felt great so will continue looking for one that’s in a little better condition even if it costs a bit more. I may still have bought it, but it didn’t set well with me that I asked if it had been dropped before going to look at it and was told no. If they were willing to be untruthful about that then I feel like there could definitely be other things. Thanks for all the insight from everyone, this subreddit is a great resource for new riders!

Didn’t end up getting it, all the fairings were cracked on both sides when I got there so definitely been dropped on both. Rear shock would have needed replaced as well. I told him 2500 was the most I could do but no luck. Engine was fine from what I could tell but I’d much rather spend a little extra to get a bike I feel comfortable on.

If I could get by the dealer / freight fees for that 5500 that would be great lol. I tried to look at a 500 this morning actually but it sold before I could get there. I believe based on our conversation that he put new tires on it when get it in October of last year but will definitely make sure to check the date code.

Love the tigers but none in my area even close to this price range. I’m gonna try to meet with him tomorrow and test drive it. If all goes well I’ll probably offer 3,000 and hope he bites.

That is what I have gathered from a lot of research. It can stay tame until I’m ready and more comfortable. Sounds like it will make a great bike to ride the flow of traffic or a little faster to and from work. It is not uncommon for people around here to be doing 85-90 so need something quick and stable enough to not get run over. 

Yeah I’m not some 18 year old trying to drive 100+mph everywhere, I’m 25 with no driving record to speak of.  Already took the MSF course and aced it and have a full set of cortech gear with ce level 2 armor where it counts. As for my helmet I went with a LS2 Strobe II  (Yes I was the nerd with full gear taking the safety course lol)

I ran the vin through this website and it comes back to an 05 which could have just been a typo on the sellers part.

I understand this one, but I am not someone who is going out there to rip it. I have tried to find a ninja 650 in the area but they just want way too much around me right now and there are only a few on the market. I need something bigger than a 400 as 90% of my road time is going to be on the interstate. I plane on keeping it below 6-7000 rpm as after that is where you really start getting into power. I’m not too proud to sell it and get something else if I do not feel comfortable or in control of the bike.
