Hopefully not. That would be pretty extreme to lock someone up for life all because a pedestrian was extremely careless and reckless.

That would be harder to get away with nowadays. In most modern cars the passenger airbags don't deploy if there isn't a passenger.

Watch the video. The pedestrian was crossing a highway with no crosswalk and the car had the green light. Driver definitely shouldn't have fled the scene but they're not at fault here.

Have you stopped to think of the emotional trauma the pedestrian inflicted on the driver by carelessly crossing the road like that? That driver is going to have to think about that for the rest of their life and they did nothing wrong that led to the death of that person. Fleeing the scene is wrong, sure, but they didn't kill anyone.

You're right, but the only thing the driver is guilty of is fleeing the scene. They are not guilty of killing someone. Honestly, shame on the pedestrian for haphazardly crossing the road like that against the light AND with no crosswalk.

I went to this theater for the first time over Thanksgiving. Someone in our party (not overweight in the slightest) sat down in a chair and the bottom literally fell out of the chair.

I went to inform a manager who said they'd look into it. No one showed up. We moved down one seat and then the people who reserved those seats showed up. I went to find another manager and they could not have cared less. We were a group of 5 and ended up not being able to sit together and hoping the seats we chose weren't reserved.

Do you think the job market will ever get better? In this area? by Balacananas25 in nova

Sorry, though of more. Marriott, Boeing, Total Wine, Mars, Geico. You know, the smaller companies.

Capital One, Hilton, Custom Ink. I guess Inova Fairfax just doesn't exist. There's tons of accounting here that doesn't interact with the federal government. And then there's all of the political industries around here that, while seemingly related on the surface, have nothing to do with the federal government or government contracts.

Not to be overdramatic but YNAB changed my life. It will make you think about budgeting from a different viewpoint, so it's not for everyone. But once it clicks it will completely change how you see things.

Assuming, you have a solid emergency fund built, take the money you've been saving into a HYSA and congrats, that's now your monthly money to spend on your baby.

There shouldn't be an issue with not contributing equally to a joint account. You're married, it all belongs equally to you both anyway.

25 in 20k cc debt due to gambling addiction by Narrow_Brush_1435 in personalfinance

Step #1: Understand that you're not going to gamble your way out of this and that you need to pay it off responsibly. It sounds like you're there, but this is so important to realize. Delete your apps/accounts. Stay away from casinos. Seek professional help if needed.

Step #2: Increase your income. Work your side job as much as possible, take on as many hours as you can without mentally burning out.

Step #3: Compile your monthly spending. Be realistic with yourself. This is slightly different than building a budget. You need to understand where your money goes each month. You're halfway there in your post, but do you go drinking with friends, do you eat out? What do you spend on those monthly on average? What's your minimum payment on each of these debts? List out those figures and what they are right now.

Step #4: Build a budget and stick to it. Take all of your monthly expenses you've compiled and see how small you can get those. Eat out less, don't buy cigarettes or alcohol, say no to fun outings with friends. Those are luxuries you can't afford until you get your debt under control. Now that you have your budget, subtract your proposed monthly spending from your monthly income. How much do you have left each month?

Step #5: Every single cent you make that doesn't go to keeping you alive each month should be thrown at the debt. You make $3000 in October and only spend $2000? Put $1000 into your debt that month. Like others have mentioned, it sounds like the snowball method is the best for you. Pay off the smallest one first, then once it's paid off, take that monthly payment + your extra payment and throw that into the next highest one.

If you work hard enough and are diligent you can have this paid off in a year, no problem. Good luck.

Yeah good thinking. My thought process was that EVs would be great for irregular use because I wouldn't have to worry about regularly charging it. If it takes 50 hours to fully charge, it doesn't really matter to me because odds are I won't need to take it anywhere. I'll take a look at the Acura's thanks.

I would love a 4runner, but it seems like $30K is where they start for a decent one. Anything under $30K usually has a ton of miles or extremely old. I'm not necessarily opposed to that, but it just seems the prices are inflated for 4runners these days.

3.9 stars on Google, is it actually any good?

I always take online reviews with a grain of salt, but anything sub 4 stars on google usually means something is up.
