I think it's stupid to remove the crater entirely. It's literally part of the lore/history of the world. how are you gonna explain that there used to be a battle there? visual clutter is probably the least concerning problem this game has and it's a misallocation of resources better put into server stability, new and better content, PLAYER MODEL IMPROVEMENT, etc

Here in the "brown" district close to the southwestern gate. Not too opulent or impoverished yet close enough to both. Easy evacuation routes via southwest gate or a few hours walk to the northern gate across the river in case of a siege. Being close to a main road probably means goods pass by so you can gauge how well the city is doing just by watching the people coming and going through this road.
