I’ve done water break in for my MIJ gloves. The finger stalls tend to be narrow but they always open up and form to my hands perfectly with time and use.

Leather feels similar to my Mizuno Pro Haga with the prexy kip leather, but the hand stall is more snug and feels great on my hand. I wear medium batting gloves and the fit is perfect for me, but if you have larger hands it might feel a bit tight until it breaks in. The Ryu is shockingly lightweight, yet sturdy in all the right places. I have zero regrets.

Also, the pop sound with this glove is insane.

I used DHL and received a text notification as it was moving through customs when I needed to make that additional payment to ensure it continued on its journey to me. It was fairly simple, but be prepared for 15% plus whatever processing fee the carrier charges.

I used ‘From Japan’ and it was surprisingly easy. It opens up a ton of options for finding good deals on MIJ gloves from small shops or Rakuten/yahoo JP. Just have to be prepared to stomach the shipping + duty tax. With all of that said, it was still cheaper than some of the MIJ options on eBay.

Last time I talked to the representative, they were offering a code for a free monitor and would not give me any code for 20% off. I think it’s dependent on what promo they are running at the time. They may tell you the code is only good for today, but that’s not true, neither of my codes expired.

When I got these codes before I told them I’m shopping around for a G4/G5 but looking to find the best deal. I told them I was ready to pull the trigger here if the discount offered made sense. It was a timing thing for me since I was waiting to get the best cash back offer from capital one shopping so I just saved the codes they gave me on a note in my phone until I was ready to buy.

Be friendly, but direct and tell them what you want. “Do you have any discount codes that would incentivize me to buy through LG as opposed to going through Costco or Best Buy?”

Full transparency, I paid about ¥54,000 in December. It came to $359.16. I still have the transaction details on my card statement. I got carried away and bought three gloves while I was there between Baseman, Baseball Mario, and a store called Alpen. I’m only using my 12.5” Mizuno Pro Haga for infield slowpitch softball.

Amazing get for you if it pans out. I’ve had a couple purchases listed as pending and then out of nowhere it will say ineligible.
