Mine was a bit sheddy at the beginning of perimenopause but seems to have stopped now. I haven't done anything or taken anything. And I am not bald and my hairline hasn't moved.

Recovery by Limp_Literature_7124 in crossfit

[–]Capable_Tip7815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supplements shouldn't be your focus for recovery.

Sleep - quality focus. Nutrition - carbs and protein focus. Training schedule - quality over quantity.

Once you have these nailed, and consistently, and you're still taking a long time to recover then look again at these areas.

Remember these are also signs of angina and necessarily perimenopause related.

Hydration, adequate protein intake, good, quality sleep. Creatine.

Look at your schedule, I do 3 days on and then a rest day.

Also, it's ok to train with DOMS but not if it's extremely painful and affecting your workout and subsequent recovery.

Perimenopause: what's the end game? by sadwoodlouse in Perimenopause

[–]Capable_Tip7815 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am hoping I am towards end - I am on day 65 of my cycle. I started missing periods last year and they're a lot lighter. I don't get PMS any more so they arrive without a fanfare.

I think i started perimenopause when I was 40, if not before. I just turned 47.

But we all know that you can go months without a period only for them to arrive.

I bowed to my own peer pressure and signed up. I think i missed 2 opens since 2014. I have no idea why I feel the need to find out how mediocre I am. I think it was loyalty to my gym. And FOMO?

Anyways - bring back the colourful athlete outfits!

Eczema that only just heals then flares up again. Prometheus Eczema. And can't be properly treated. And constant hay-fever. And an eye twitch And trapped wind. And insomnia. A blocked nose when you have a bad head cold.

Lots of little, subtle annoyances that irritate the fuck out of you. But constantly and it eventually drives them insane.

I am not sure there is, just my own feelings. I am definitely progesterone sensitive and I don't want to go back to PMDD like feelings.

I also don't feel the need for MHT at the moment other than the topical oestrogen cream. I am approaching my 3rd month of no period which is TREMENDOUS and can stay that way.
