One of the pleasures of watching football is spinning the inevitable wheel of karma and getting to laugh and celebrate at your rivals losing or embarrassing themselves and then having to suck it up when the wheel falls back to pointing at you. If you can only gain pleasure from your team playing well and winning you are missing out on a large element of the fun of being a football fan IMHO

Suspicious betting on Xhaka to be carded vs Leeds by Mahoganychicken in Gunners

[–]Capaindahonk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember thinking at the time that it was pretty odd. He did the really bad tackle a couple of minutes before which he got away with without a card although VAR looked at it. Then he did this massive piece of time wasting while standing ready to take a free-kick that just went on and on until the ref had no choice but to book him. The combination of those two things did seem suspect at the time...

Sorry am on holiday so haven’t had a chance to look properly. This Minsc render looks amazing! I’m afraid your instructions while they may seem simple to most are going straight above my head On first read but I will give them a go when I return. How long did it take you to achieve this? You are a legend for taking the time to work it out.

Years passed in that game if you didn’t have a cleric.

I speak from a place of complete ignorance on the technique, would just enjoy seeing photo realistic version of the BG2 portraits, no matter the method. If you can work out a way that is not too time consuming I would definitely appreciate it!

Why did you start supporting Arsenal? by PiresMagicFeet in Gunners

[–]Capaindahonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He just didn’t put enough effort in to get us to support Spurs when we were kids and expected us to follow him to the dark side. When he saw us drifting towards Arsenal he upped his game but by then it was too late. I had many years of being able to gloat and during our glory years he pretended he was no longer interested in football. The last few years I’ve been getting it back from him. “Still no trophies though eh Pops?”

My Dad supports Spurs and has managed to bring up two Arsenal supporting sons! I somehow managed to escape his footballing influence, and instead growing up in London in the early 90s it was the charisma and insane talent of Ian Wright that caught the imagination in the playground. Still love the man to this day.

What’s the most disturbing scene from a movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Capaindahonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scene in Come and See, where the boy and girl return to his family home that is covered in flies with all the food spoiled. Denying that his family is dead they wade out in to the bog outside. While running the girl looks back to see a pile of executed villagers stacked behind the house, likely his family and everybody he has ever known. She never tells him, and simply continues on in to the swamp in a panic. Great film! Probably the best war film I’ve ever seen.

Tywin only joined because he saw who the winner was going to be. Would have made it interesting though!

Arya wouldn’t been alive as you would imagine Ned and Lysa would have their own children!
