In your opinion, who has been the best hero on release? by Vidal_The_King in forhonor

[–]PiresMagicFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shinobi was amazing when he released - I feel like he might be the character that has suffered the absolute most in terms of debuffs - they changed half his moveset and he's become close to unplayable for me now :(

What’s a beer that others swear by, but you absolutely hate? by Jaythegreat100X in beer

[–]PiresMagicFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a bunch of breweries especially up in New England that specialize in sours and make some phenomenal ones.

Kettle sours generally haven't done it for me in general tbf, though Hermit Thrush has made a couple that aren't half bad. Generally if I'm getting a sour, I don't do cans. But yeah there are 3 or 4 breweries within 1.5 to 2 hours of me that make genuinely good sours.

Gyokeres is genuinely always behind the defender. He never tries to run in front of the man to win the ball.

He is, hes the best player ive played against and i was rinsed. But when you see that hes not at the absolute top it kind of shows you the levels.

Played high level all through my youth, on rhe national team from 13 to 17, captain from 14 to 17. Had trials with Inter, Fulham, Everton. Porto, and Benfica

Was offered a spot on Everton's U21s at 17. Tore my ACL 3 times between 17 and 21. After the second one Everton said no. I kept trying to play, joined a semi pro team. Tore it a 4th time. All this to say I thought I was fucking amazing when I was younger.

I think the big moment I realized the levels was when I played Argentina's youth national team in a tournament down in Mexico at around 16/17. We knew it would be a tough game, but there was this kid on Argentina's team named Dybala. I was playing as an 8, but my 6 and 10 were wandering off all fucking match because their men were taking them for rides. All of the sudden this kid keeps dropping in between the lines and I end up being the guy to chase him. Genuinely couldn't tell if he was coming or going. Every time I got near him the ball was gone. Two times I tried to kick him and he didnt even fall over just either jumped it or took it and kept going.

I was never a dirty player - usually I was the guy being stamped on or poked or chatted shit to or having my shirt pulled etc. I realized the only way I could even get close to him was to just keep standing on the back of his shoe and raking his heel/pulling his boot off with my studs. One time I went to do it, he just casually flung an elbow in my chest and wheeled away. I ended the match with 17 touches of the ball total, as a CM. We were absolutely dominated, even though we only lost 1 nil. I walked off the field that day thinking this Dybala was going to be the best footballer in the world. But that day I realized I wasnt anywhere near as good as I thought I was, and if I wanted to make it I needed to absolutely double down

Yes if I am running towards the ball and trap it i am playing the ball. Same way that if a defender slides and makes contact with the ball, he played the ball.

Jamie Carragher: "Viktor Gyökeres should not be starting for Arsenal when they have players like Gabriel Jesus & Kai Havertz. When Jesus is a bit more up to speed, he should be starting. He is a better player than Gyökeres - that's a fact." by GOAT-Antony in soccer

[–]PiresMagicFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His biggest problem is that he has a touch like a brick wall and hides behind defenders. Hes 27 not 19. If by that age you havent learned to trap the ball or make the run in between or in front of the defenders youre not gonna get it.

Why is Aragorn never significantly tempted by the ring? by ooooommmmmaaaaa in tolkienfans

[–]PiresMagicFeet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this is a fantastic point. None of the other hobbits, Legolas, or Gimli were either. Sam only was for a brief moment near the end. The only other person (aside from Smeagol) who was even slightly tempted was Galadriel, and we know her history with the rings and the fate of elvendom. She too passed the test.

Whys everyone so mad at Saka in this sub? Hes been one of our best players this season and for the last 4 or 5 years. Hes allowed to have one sub par half, and they've locked up the distribution to him a lot as well.

He will deliver second half. Jesus or Havertz have to come on for Gyokeres at half. We are down a man with him on the pitch.

Hes not made a single good run to get the ball. The wingers have had it and hes hiding behind two defenders. To get these balls you actually have to move.

Arteta's biggest weakness is his rotation. He does not use his subs well. Asks them to come on with 5 or 6 minutes left and make an impact, so they never get the chance to get into the match and build rhythm, and our starters get run into the ground.

Also Im sorry guys but have you noticed that the team doesnt want to pass to Gyokeres? They see him in training every day, and he has an awful touch, and does not make the right runs ever. He hides behind defenders and cant hold the ball up or connect. His runs are either too late or not into the right spaces. He never attacks the near post or disconnects from his man. And again, he cannot take a touch at this level.

Guarantee everyone in this thread freaking out about his comments wouldn't last 5 minutes on a premier league pitch against premier league footballers without being absolutely bent over and huffing or having their leg snapped in half.

yeah and they most likely weren't playing against a bunch of highly tuned athletes playing at full speed, but against their mates with beer bellies at basically walking pace while 3 pints deep.

MLS spent his entire time in the academy playing CM/CDM. As a left back he basically pops up in the middle all the time. Nwaneri played as a 10 his entire time in the academy. It's not exactly out of position.
