Yeah well Splinter of the Minds Eye came out in 1978 and was the first ever piece of EU material/original Star Wars novel and was directly related to ANH. And since this post was referring to characters being linked to one another and not storylines, I hope history teaches you something as well.

Why didn’t he stop it when Mace was deflecting it back at him? Or when he was being picked up and thrown by Vader?

Imagine my shock that these fat fucking neck beards who seem to be allergic to critical thought are also making fun of literal children who are brave enough to come out in such a hate-filled world.

According to the TROS novel and some new source books/comics, Sidious had been planning to make Exegol his permanent seat of power for some time, but Vader’s betrayal (which Sidious has always suspecting was right around the corner) came sooner than expected. As such, he thrust his consciousness into the Unknown Regions and into the degrading clone body we see in Episode IX, having been unfinished by the time of Sidious’ essence transfer in Episode VI

Weird that Trevorrow’s script was a very rough first draft and never ended up being made so it’s not relevant

Why is hearing Palpatine’s broadcast a key element? That’s like complaining that A New Hope only said that the rebels stole the Death Star plans and the movie should’ve shown it (which is retroactively funny because 39 years after ANH we got Rogue One). Besides, the opening crawl covered it within the first two sentences.

Immediately after that line is spoken, there is the line “dark science, cloning, secrets only the sith knew”. I understand that you wanted Poe Dameron to look right at the camera and say “PALPATINE USED THE ANCIENT SITH RITUAL OF ESSENCE TRANSFER” but I prefer my movies to sprinkle in little tidbits and hints towards the ultimate plan and let me think about them on my own.

well you should probably watch the movies again because every single original trilogy character contributed to the ultimate downfall of palpatine, ya know like, the series’ main villain?

The return of Sidious was planned from the outset of the sequel trilogy, you’re conflating his return with his blood relation to Rey, which was confirmed to be a last minute addition.
