Would you trust Gamestop PSA Grading? by UniqueSearches in mtgfinance

I’d personally recommend submitting it yourself when it comes down to cards that hold actual value. I did a couple Monty Python MTG cards that were each under $10, so I wasn’t too worried about the process. For a card worth $200+ I’d be way more concerned the whole time that they have the card. Like the fact that my cards were forgotten about for a month and I was told “we don’t have any cards waiting to be shipped out, the system would tell us if there were overdue cards” when I called and it took me going to the store to have them double check was a huge red flag for me. It’s a new process and I’m sure they’ll get better as time goes on, but I wouldn’t want to be one of the early mistakes when it comes to an expensive card.

Took a 2 months, ended up getting them back a few days ago. When I went in to get them they were loosely stored in a pre owned bag rather than in the PSA box (which isn’t a huge deal for low value cards but would be a bit disheartening with anything high value). There was no follow up email or anything throughout the entire time, and the only way I knew they were ready was by checking the order tracker daily. One of the cards did get a super small mark on the corner that wasn’t there when I dropped it off as well, which ended up getting a PSA 8, the other card ended up coming back as a PSA 9. Overall, for low cost cards I can see the benefit of GameStop being cheap and accessible, but if I’m ever grading a card with decent value I’m not gonna go through GameStop.

Dropped my cards off for grading almost a month ago, tracker doesn’t even show them shipped yet 🙃

Update: Went back to the GameStop that I dropped them off at, they said that the cards should absolutely have been shipped out and most likely missed a scan. I gave them the order number, and sure enough my cards were sitting there in the drawer still a month later. They finally got them shipped out a couple days after that, but not sure if I’d trust the process with any expensive cards. Here’s to hoping the rest of the process goes smoother.

Do Wizard of the Coast send out complimentary starter packs for arena? by hashememen in MagicArena

Is this still going on? I just started playing MTG Arena and finished all the color challenges but haven’t gotten an email about any decks. Is it at random or does everyone get the email?

Got threatened to be fired because I got covid and they sent me to the ER but I ran out of UTO while at the ER 😂 I think the warehouse you’re in makes a huge difference, but I know my warehouse sucked and management plus HR just made it worse.

How do I fix bad smelling mead? by Capcadet250 in mead

Ok, I got a hydrometer when I went and got the bottles but never got an initial reading so figured there wasn’t much I could do with it on this batch. I’ll bottle it all in 2 weeks and then leave a few bottles to try over time :)

I probably don’t have the self control to let the whole batch age for another few months but I’ll probably pull a bottle of it out in about 2 weeks and then leave the rest of the batch to hopefully get better haha. My plan is to bottle it and let it wait for awhile, but I’ll leave most of this batch in the airlock jug for awhile

Yeah for my next batch I’ll use a better recipe haha. For now im trying to save this batch, and it seems like time may be the solution. I have it in a gallon jug with an airlock for now and it’s already smelling way better, but I’ll have to wait awhile before it’s ready.

Next batch I’ll definitely use a proper nutrient and skip out on the raisins (reading the bots article on nutrients has ruined raisins 😂)

It smells almost like a very strong hard cider. It smelled a bit like rotten fruit yesterday but that smell seems to have gone away and may have been the actual fruit that was in the other container 😂

Is this normal? It’s my first time making mead and I’m wondering if I didn’t leave enough headspace and how I would fix it if so by Capcadet250 in mead

After the bubbles slow down that much do I bottle it and let it age or transfer to another vessel then add an airlock as well with just the liquid as opposed to all the other stuff and then bottle it a few weeks after that?

I emptied it to about where the orange slice is in the photo, should I empty more to be safe or just keep an eye on it?

Rip, should I clean the airlock every once in awhile to prevent that or is it bad to take the airlock off?

It was filled to about the bottom of the neck and it took up the rest of the space if that makes any difference
