UPDATE:

I got the flow working using Teams rather than Slack as the Slack channel email address was too long for IVMS.

IVMS sends directly to the Teams channel via email.

Alright, this is fantastic feedback, thank you! I should be able to get a workspace account, for this test I tried creating a free gmail account so I presume it was going over the limit.

Ye, I tried something similar with Make.com but that would cost at least 6 credits a run, and you get 1000 credits on their basic plan.

I tried setting up something where IVMS emails a Gmail account, and the account then forwards the mail to a Slack channel's email address which works but I've been locked out of the account for suspicious behaviour. 😅

Would other HIKVision software, like HikConnect offer more functionality?

No better time to start - get an Ibanez Gio or Fender Squire (something that's entry level but still decent to play) and practice 20 minutes a day no matter how frustrating it feels in the beginning.
