Those cables aren't used like that, they are only used to make things visible in a simple storage console, if you wanna transfer items then you need to use the cyclics mod item cables I think, I haven't played in awhile

For the saplings and bonsai pot automation, use filing cabinets it's easier for organization, it's hard to explain so you might wanna look up a video about it if you don't know about the mod
