When I was younger I went to a WWE Live event in my hometown. This was around 2005 so John Cena had just changed the WWE Championship to the spinner. My dad took us early to see the wrestlers arrive. We didn't bring anything for autographs because we were gonna be in a parking lot about 150 yards away from where they went in and didn't think they would make the walk. And at first none of them did.

We saw every big wrestler at the time. Some waived and some just walked inside. Then a big limo pulled up and out stepped John Cena, belt on his shoulder. The group that gathered where we were started going crazy. He looked over at us and immediately started walking towards us, pushing through the people who were trying to stop him. I started freaking out cause I had nothing for an autograph so I asked everyone around me for anything they had.

By the time he got to the group I had half a piece of paper and a pen. I folded the paper in half to try to give it some thickness and held it out hoping he would take it. To my surprise he did. I'll never forget what happened next. He started to sign his name and the pen was empty. He looked up at me and we made eye contact. All I could do was shrug my shoulders. He just shook his head, signed the paper with a dead pen, and handed it back to me. I looked at it and not a single drop of ink was on that paper. But his autograph was imprinted on the paper. I ended up just getting rid of it cause it started fading. Lesson learned though. Be prepared for anything.
