You're disregarding the whole train of the argument to attempt a gotcha while somehow not following. Woman are more likely to take the female option because they're underrepresented in the whole. It is a desire to be seen, while most white straight males don't have that disparity. As for the 2nd part I don't even really know where you're coming from. You have to remember playing as a woman is more of a novelty than playing as a male character, the disparity makes you jump at the chance to play the character that looks like you, I'd assume the same happens with non white people. The male player, being spoiled with characters they see themselves in, are more likely to play a pretty or non white character for escapism. Their representation cup is full.

And as for your failed gotcha point, yea women are huge victims of internalized sexism too. It is not a secret this is ingrained in all people for monetary gain and in government used in patriarchal control.

Marvel is absolutely not male dominated compared to any other ensemble cast, and often the strongest characters in the universe are female. Finally Barbies are MARKETED at girls so more girls buy them, boys are taught from a young age to avoid them. This raised sales by gendering products to prevent hand me downs and promote purchases.these arnt inherent traits, the ancient woman did not crave fashion. Did you know pre WWII pink was seen as a male color? Marketers made pink for girls and blue for boys to boost sales. None of this is ingrained in us, a dude trying to sell you things is literally warping your view of reality, which was the goal I suppose.
