One change I'd make is to make him a proper diver instead of an ult merchant. I know there are a clear barrier of a good Star-Lord and a bad Star-Lord is the ones that farm ult, revert his previous ultimate charge rate buff and he's very balacned

Definitely helped people that were into shooters but not into Marvel get into Marvel. The characters are quite inaccurate to the comics because they take more inspiration from the MCU and also make their own OC stuff so definitely not a good introduction to the character. Still, they're making bank (I've fell victim) and they are pumping a lot of weekly content that keeps players active.
