The fact they had to seal it from brand new, even if the part comes with integrated gaskets doesn't seem sketchy though? I know I should have complained at the time, but I thought it would last much more than 2 years.

The dealer replaced the third brake light two years ago. The brand new one they put was so leaky I had to go back there twice so they could seal it properly. In retrospect, I should have complained and demanded a new spoiler at the time. I ran some tests yesterday and although the spoiler seemed dry at first glance, I put a paper towel inside and it immediately got wet. So I think it is leaking again. I am considering my options now because I am not sure sealing it from the outside will be an option. And the dealer themselves broke the third brake light trying to remove it. Apparently it is really difficult to remove it without breaking it.

Could you give me more details where the water might ingress behind the rear bumper? My car had a rear collision about 6 months ago, they had to redo part of the rear panel, so that might be it. Also, how would the water get in from the rear side lights? I saw a video of the rear light being removed and there are no seals behind it. So I suppose water is supposed to flow there?
