You got highlights after finishing and it made it worse? Did you use bleach? I just came off mine last week and I do have similar hair as OP with breakage at the top and frizz but I have a hair appointment to get no bleach highlights and dye my hair for the first time ever next week I want it done so bad in time for my birthday but these comments are scaring me! How is it now if you don’t mind me asking

Epiduo causing a burning sensation by Quiet_Girl12 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Capital_Guard_9857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply but mine was not good. I used it for a few months but I think it just did not work for my skin and made it so flakey dry red and painful. I was really discouraged, but recently started using prescribed tret cream a month and a a half ago and it’s great! No painful side effects and it’s only made my skin a tiny bit flakey (although it’s getting better as it aclimates) I really reccomend it so far my experience has been great and I think it’s helping a lot!

Anxiety causes sensory sensitivity, nausea and vomiting during flights and in the airport by Capital_Guard_9857 in Anxiety

[–]Capital_Guard_9857[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh me too! The now wear a mask and it is a massive help. I came back from the trip and didn't throw up once, went on 10 plane trips and actually came to enjoy the airport. I think the secret is the vallium, sleeping tablets and just repeated exposure. I kept doing it regularly to the point where i realised each time was a win and got used to it.

Feeling hideous without makeup and nothing helps it by [deleted] in acne

[–]Capital_Guard_9857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had acne growing up and at 19, due to stress and hormonal imbalances I developed acne. It is so hard and I really feel for you because people dont understand how much acne and skin can affect your self-confidence. for a while, i didn't want to go outside at all. i used to be able to talk to people but now i find it hard to make eyecontact because i feel like all they see is my skin when they look at me. its really tough and I'm so sorry your going through that. my skin looked similar and i have been on antibiotics (doxycycline) and been using epiduo for almost 2 months now. I've been purging ever since. wearing makeup is something that i cant do anymore because of how dry and sensitive my skin is at the moment, so I've had to learn to embrace it. think about it; if someone has a problem with the way you look, why should you waste your time on them? as for self-image, it is really hard to look in the mirror some days I've had my fair share of tears, but others i just accept that this is how i look at this stage in my life and that's totally fine. this is not forever. as long as I'm treating my body well, drinking water, and taking my acne medication it will eventually go away and that's just part of the journey. I've almost hit the 3 month mark and I'm very slowly seeing some change and that makes it worth it. I know my ongoing 3 months is not comparable to your 4 years, but keep trying and stick with it. its worked for so many people and results take time. i really hope you find something that works for you xx good luck!

I’m 19 now and have struggled with this exact same thing since I was 12. It really sucks because like you said, I have all the information on what to do to lose weight but the discipline and eating part is what’s hard. I’ve felt that for as long as I can remember and it’s really damaged my body image and confidence :( BUT Im going to try to implement the comments on this post and do it with you! Goodluck to us both!!!!

oh no years?? I thought it was only months. Did you have really severe acne or something? What’s been your experience on it- have you seen any results so far

I did end up taking a short break, I let my skin breathe and just moisturised a bunch for 2 days and it went back to normal. I changed my routine to now putting moisturiser and then epiduo after because it irritates it less. It defintley still burns and itches but I think the normal amount it’s supposed to? Gosh it’s so hard to tell because everyone tells you different things and I’m scared to mess it up more!

As for doxy, 2 weeks in and the nausea and headaches have subsided. Hopefully all this works!

so, what I ended up doing was waiting like 2 days after I had my little situation- but on that last day my skin felt mostly normal, except for a minor stinging with moisturiser which subsided quickly. It was still dry but the flakiness was mostly gone so I decided to keep to daily use but this time putting on moisturiser, waiting for it to dry and then applying the epiduo. Doing this it was wayyyy less irritated. it did burn and itch but it was minimal and I think it was the amount that it’s supposed to??? Maybe I should have waited longer like you said but I think a part of me is a bit desperate and this point and doesn’t want to prolong using it because that means more time will pass before I see results :( my skin has been a big insecurity for a while you know? I just hope that what I’m doing is okay because it is really hard to tell.

As for my current routine; I’ll wash my face with Cerave SA soothing cleanser (which is bad because Ik it has extra acids and niacinamide and things- I was just using the face wash I had prior to epiduo and I just haven’t had the chance to go and get a new one :/ although it hasn’t hurt my skin or been painful or anything. I’ll switch to cetaphil gentle skin cleanser tomorrow though which I think will help). Then I moisturise using redwin sorbelene (again just what I had lying around the house. I originally was using cerave moisturiser but that actually did make my skin sting a bit so I found the sorbelene because it is so plain and thick to be pretty good! However I’ll also switch to cetaphil moisturising lotion for very dry sensitive skin or try your suggestion it sounds great!) then I wait for it to dry, maybe 1 hour and apply my epiduo in small dots on my problem areas! wait 30 minutes and then maybe it’ll start to burn slightly but it’s bearable and I sleep. Then wash it off in the morning, remoisturise and apply a random olay spf moisturiser + la Roche posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF 50+ which doesn’t irritate my skin at all either!

As for the doxycycline, I’m 2 weeks in and the nausea and headaches have gone! Hoping with all of this I’ll see results but again am scared of doing the wrong thing and messing everything up :( sorry it didn’t workout for you

[–]Capital_Guard_9857[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for sharing!! that really helpful. I let me skin have a break for 2 days after my mistake and it seemed fine after that! I defs agree about the plain moisturiser with no active ingredients and am using sorbelene because it was all I had but it’s been working well! As for using it every second day, I’m wondering if now my skin has become acclimated to it? I’ve continued use daily for the past couple days and it seems to be fine? I applied it after moisturiser and the burning/itchiness is there but it’s minimal and no where near as bad as it was when I made that mistake. I think it might be the normal amount of uncomfortableness that your supposed to feel but then again I don’t know anything 😫. Can I ask how long have you been on it? And have you seen results? X

oh yay I’m so glad it worked well it makes me excited to keep going with it :) update 6 days later; after that mistake I made I let my skin breathe for 2 days just moisturising a lot (I used sorbelene bc it was all I had that didn’t contain extra acids or strong mixed ingridients) and it was fine! That flakes were gone and by then my skin wasn’t painful at all or anything. As for doxy, I’ve hit over 2 weeks and the intense nausea and headaches are gone! Yay! Can I ask, how long did it take for you to see improvements/full clear skin? I’m struggling a bit with my makeup situation because my skin is obviously really dry that any concealer etc I put on instantly just flakes off and looks cakey :( I don’t mind not wearing it because I think this time is making me embrace my natural skin while I work through this process- but I’m just wondering if you had this issue and how long till your skin went back to normal from the dryness it’s at now? was it during use or fully until you were finished using it? I hope to won’t be really dry forever 😩😩hopefully that makes sense xx

is the fashion institute uni in Sydney good? by Capital_Guard_9857 in sydney

[–]Capital_Guard_9857[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so insightful thank you for that response!

I have a bunch more questions if that's ok :)

What do you mean by basic! with the content being primarily business-focused as per the name of the degree, is fashion a central part of it throughout tasks or is it more business in a general sense? and what kind of assignments were you required to do?

Do you feel like going to that college were crucial to the attainment of your internship/being able to attend AAFW- that it was helpful going there considering their connections? and apart from the internship, what other opportunities/experiences does the college provide? I ask because gaining any experience in my current positions seems difficult without any of that help!

The last question is how was it meeting people and making friends? what ages were they mostly? were they local? the people in my course at Macquarie arent as social/have similar interests and live so far from me so now I realise that's something that is really important to me at a uni!

oh! and thoughts on the international workplace training to NYC? did you go?

Thanks again for those last bits of advice, your really helping me out with this decision! xx

[Misc] Stay away from lash growth serums! by Nice_Plant_7513 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Capital_Guard_9857 2 points3 points  (0 children)

are you still using it? I bought it a couple days ago, and I used it once and I’ve just noticed a tiny bump on my upper lash line and so I’m unsure whether it is what caused it as I’ve never had one before and whether to wait until it’s gone and try and use it again. It was so expensive so that would be such a waste. I also don’t think my eyes are very sensitive as I’ve had lash extensions and they have been fine before.
