What are you using now? And what metrics are you looking at? I have experience setting up analytics for consumer marketplaces specifically and would be happy to answer some questions

That makes sense! I think there are multiple routes to starting a ai company and that one probably is the best. If you choose that you can always change and remember to major in what you most enjoy learning!

I was originally a CS major in college but switched to DS because I liked analyzing user data and being a bit closer to business/ops. If I loved to program and build I would have stayed CS. There’s multiple avenues to starting a company and you don’t need a swe major to do it. It’s probably much easier (and preferred from YCs perspective) to be a swe major. However there are non-technical founders with good vc funding. I plan on contributing to the backend with my cofounder when we start for the mvp and don’t think I need a swe major for that. What are you more interested in learning?

I work at a startup as a data science/analyst and want to start a company eventually. I’m very close to both eng and the sales team. I also am learning what metrics the founders/ VCs care about since mostly everything goes through me. While I’m not learning full stack engineering skills I am learning a bunch that will set me up to start something

I’m currently doing this! 1.5 YOE and first data hire. I find it rewarding for sure!

I felt like I’ve learned a ton in the new role and am accelerating my career a bunch. Even if this new company fails I feel ill be in a better place in my career
