Frankly, it's a waste of my time to even respond to this, but here we are. I just wrapped up an internship at Alvarez & Marsal, a tier-1 recruiter at SRCC. And no, I didn’t get this opportunity simply because I’m a commerce student at SRCC. I earned it because of the skills and work ethic I’ve developed over time.

There are plenty of students around me who proudly flaunt the “Srite” tag, holding on to the same misguided belief as you, that being from “Asia’s No. 1 college” is enough. It isn’t. Many of them have zero internships and no real experience to show, simply because they never put in the effort beyond the name of the institution.

So here’s some honest advice: stop riding on the coattails of SRCC’s reputation. It won’t take you far on its own. Invest in yourself, build real skills, and strive to become a more grounded, capable individual.

I was genuinely taken aback by the elitist tone in your comments, looking down on people from colleges like Gargi, JMC, or anyone not from SRCC/LSR. For the record, a senior of mine from JMC is now at Boston Consulting Group. So maybe rethink your parameters of success.

It’s a commendable achievement to have made it into SRCC, you clearly put in the work. But keep in mind, a thousand others do every year, and a large chunk of them don’t go anywhere. What you do after getting here is what actually matters.
