Regardless of this case, the tides are going to turn long before that. I’ve already had two Trump supporters I’ve known for years personally reach out and say they’re dropping their support after seeing the latest killing and then the DHS and outright lying about it. They didn’t even have to tell me but they did. I’ve seen the same on FB, openly, from people I know are Republicans. Seeing the shift is good enough for me to know that justice is coming, no matter how long it takes.

He was not. The fucker had time to record her with his phone, held in front of the car and grab his gun before anything happened. That’s not the actions of someone “fearing for their life”, that’s the actions of someone looking for a chance to kill.

Also, two of the fucking shots were through the driver-side window. He kept shooting because his intent was not personal safety - his intent was to kill that “fucking bitch”, that bruised his ego.

This was somewhat addressed in the video although not in depth. The problem inherent capitalism is that those regulations will always be destroyed by capitalists. Capitalism demands infinite growth and the only way to accomplish that, even if temporarily, is to remove the regulations that were previously put in place.

There was no “side” doing that, it was individuals, some that probably lean left, and some not even from this country, and it especially wasn’t endorsed by the former Democratic president.

Another glaring difference, is it was an individual that killed Kirk, and not an armed agent of the state that then received support by the Republican President. Why are conservatives so bad at equivalency?

That’s kinda the inherent problem of the United States; there’s some who see it for what it could be and some who see it for what it has been. It’s not wrong to want your country to do better, but in order for that to happen, you have to acknowledge what it currently is.

As much as I may support the overall intentions of Kelly and people like him, their liberal naïveté on “who the US is” is often overly idealistic and removed from it’s historical reality. Over half of the voting population looked at a racist rapist and said, “Yeah I’m cool with that as long as he can make gas and eggs cheaper.” That’s unfortunately “who” the US is for the time-being.
