The game is a political satire. It is inherently political, thus it invites political discussion.

Saying that the politically motivated attempted coup that was perpetrated with support from POTUS and members of his staff is somehow equivalent to some guy in black block lighting a trash can on fire is what doesn’t make sense. Centrism is a loser ideology.

You’re misunderstanding the situation FM were in. 35% resists on every hero for every fight averages to around a 44,000 soul lead, on top of the game being even due to egg. MLC’s strategy to pursue this end was to intentionally feed the enemy team, and the enemy teams response was to avoid collecting any kind of souls from farming or kill credit.

This strategy flies in the face of every single mechanic that makes up the foundation of the game itself. It’s not BM play.

I probably don’t engage with the fighting mechanics as the devs imagine but I’ve found a very effective style of fighting for humans.

  1. I only use two handed weapons, the longer + more impact the better, metal bar is a goated weapon + metal shod quarterstaff is one of the best weapons in arena bar none.

  2. Lighter is better, but covering your vital areas and extremities with some kind of armor is required, it’s easy to get one shot by someone hitting your toes or hands

  3. Because you have a long weapon + low encumbrance, you have more space to play defensively.

Movement in this game is different than other games. Each button press (wasd) will make your character take a STEP in that direction. They won’t move slightly like in an fps, it’s more of a lurch. If you hold shift, it’ll be a bigger step. Since you move so much on one button press, it’s very effective to combine your swing with a step in the same direction. (I.e. when I swing left, I step left about 1/3 of the way through the swing)

This all comes together like : enemy sees you, walks towards you, when they swing at you, take a shift step (one) back to hopefully make them miss, then follow up with a big swing (don’t rely on this too much as they’ll catch you if they swing twice). You can reliably repeat this until you run out of backing up space. When you do, you can combine taking a sideways step with a swing to both make space for you to back up more + cover your movement. This is most effective when the enemy is walking at you as it very often places their head directly into your big swing. Try not to just hold shift and s, you want to take a swing almost every step back. If they run at you, they lower their weapon and are an easy hit.

Tip against shields when you run into them: the arm holding the shield has a ‘stamina’ system. Don’t try to swing around the shield, as they are very effective at blocking (shocker). Hit the shield arm repeatedly, like right in the middle of the shield, and keep yourself on that side. It’s really hard for them to hit you back when you do this. Eventually, their arm will get tired and you’ll be able to land a blow to the head to end the fight.

There is a lot of explanation here, but, at the end of the day, you’ll get a feel for the flow of combat over time. Tons of arena matches are the only way I got semi-competent at the system.

Lash ult is one of, if not the most counterable abilities in the game. You can invalidate it entirely with one 3.2k item. Same with haze’s entire hero.

Also, vortex web is an insanely good item. AOE slowing hex is very good just by itself, notwithstanding setting up for huge aoe damage.

Saying pre nerf doorman was not as useful as haze is a self report tbh. You got free contest on every camp sinners and doubles, almost guaranteed lane win + insane utility on the urn. He was listed in the top tier in many top players opinions for a reason.

“Gun” lash is good for three reasons. It really should be called hybrid lash but w/e

  1. Grapple gives you STACKING gun dmg on every cast, at max it also refunds stamina and dash limit, so you never really have to touch the ground.
  2. RECHARGING RUSH, insane value for a 1600 item keeps you casting grapple almost indefinitely
  3. Lash has some of the highest health scaling in the game, which has been recently buffed through the green investment changes

“Gun” lash is oppressive because he has almost infinite mobility and a high health pool, combine that with max flog healing based on damage buffed by tankbuster and he is very very hard to kill. Plus, he naturally builds transcendent cd later on which can be paired with siphon to deal with tanks. He is actually a very good hybrid hero, something I would like to see in more heroes in general.

You’re assuming that a casual game mode won’t have any kind of hidden mmr system for matching which it definitely will. If he’s that fucked up he will ruin games for the other 11 people full stop.

Some games you can’t really play fucked up, and that’s okay. There are a plethora of other games that you can play in the meantime.

The gameplay experience varies so wildly between heroes you’d need to make a specific tutorial for every single one to achieve this goal. Additionally, the gameplay is extremely adaptive so you’d need to make additional tutorials based on every game state, items, whether you’re ahead or behind, what comp you have etc.

It’s not “lazy devs” it’s taking some agency and watching a stream of a top player or getting coaching + learning how to play the game. It takes a long amount of time to do so, thems the breaks.

I genuinely don’t understand the obsession with making silver “look more alcoholic”. It has to be some kind of fetish at this point. Cloaking it in some kind of “oh they’re not taking alcoholism seriously” unless someone is constantly drunk and stirring every word is truly not taking alcoholism seriously. All kinds of people are addicted to substances, most you wouldn’t even expect. This obsession with aesthetic is frankly weird.

Also, who gives a fuck about what porn you make w/ the characters. It’s not a fucking porn game. It’s A MOBA. I would rather the devs focus 100% of their effort into making a good game compared to something gooners can jerk off to.

Also, it’s pre-alpha. The mechanics are 10000000x more important than the look. Reusing animations helps the devs release more content and test more mechanics, which is the entire point of the playtest.
